Claire started at the other high school and I just hope she likes it. I was actually missing my brother more than ever today. I was in the kitchen and I grabbed a cup. I meant to get water but I just used it

Right after I finished, Jesse and Claire walked in. "Hey. How was school?" I asked her. "It was actually good." She said and chuckled. "Well, I'm glad you like it." I told her. "Why is that cup empty and upside down?" She asked. "I was just singing. Me and your uncle's song, When I'm Gone. I remember, it was like a year before he passed and I was playing the song, he came in my room and started singing. I just watched in amazement. He taught me how and I pretty much got it the first time. One of his nicknames for me was Ace." I told them. "Why's that?" Jesse asked. "Ace means a very skilled person. Something you can just do like that." I said.

"Now, that you mention that song, I remembered that's the song you sung for the Bella's auditions. I kept thinking about what the name was." He said. "You weren't there." "No. I noticed no one else came out and I saw you walking in the distance so I went to go watch." He said and I snickered. "Stalker." "For you, only." He said and Claire laughed.

I slowly started to get the hang of making these mashups. I put my own voice into it and started singing. I didn't realize how loud it was because the music was loud. I was putting vocals into it as well. In the corner of my eye, I saw someone but it was Ethan. "How long were you standing there?" I asked him with a little giggle. "How long could you sing?" He asked. "Don't change the subject." "Not long. A minute, tops." He said.

"What about you?" He asked. "A year maybe. Self taught." I said and he chuckled. "Of course. You're my Ace. You can do anything you set your mind to. Not even Mom and Dad can stop you." He said. "Thanks." "Of course. As you were. Love you." "Love you too." I said and he walked out of my room.

"You okay?" Jesse asked. "Oh, yeah. I was just thinking about something." I told him. "Alright." He said.

I just got home from school and saw Ethan next door. He was looking around and our neighbor handed him something very suspiciously. Ethan started to walk back and spotted me. "Ace!" I ran inside. He came into my room. "You said you'd stop!" "Lara Jean--" "You said you would stop for me. Remember that or were you too loaded?" I asked. "Of course I remember." "How can I believe anything you say to me?" I asked then leaving.

I wanted to apologize to Ethan for what I said. I went to his room but it was locked. "Ethan? Ethan, come on. Open up. I'm sorry for what I said. I was upset." I said but he didn't say anything. I heard like something splashing on his floor but it wasn't loud. "Ethan?" I said. I ran outside and looked through his window to see him on the floor. He had overdosed. I tried opening the window but it was locked so I ran back inside. "Ethan!" I called out and I couldn't get the door open. I went to go get Dad's axe and broke his door since it was the only way to get to him. "Dad!" I called out. "Mom!" I called out again and they both ran upstairs. "'Celia, call 911." Dad said as we both tried to help him. I started crying since I was so scared.

"Lara Jean, go over there!" Dad said. I just stared. "Ethan? Wake up. Come on, buddy. You can hold on a little while." Dad said. "Lara Jean, leave the room!" He yelled again and I ran to my room.

Luckily the doctor said I found him early which was good. "Lara...Jean? Your brother's asking for you." The nurse said. I went to his room and he was up. "Hey, Ace." He said in a tired tone. "I'm sorry I scared you." He said and held my hand as I started to tear up. "When I found you, I thought you were dead." I told him. "Well, I'm not. I'm gonna stay right here with you, okay?" He asked and I nodded. He pulled me into a hug and kissed my head.

Claire and Jesse were talking and I just walked around the house. There were pictures of me and Ethan every where. I went on my Facebook and one of the friend suggestions had Ethan's name. His full name and everything. "What the hell?" I asked looking. "What?" Jesse asked. "Someone made a Facebook account with my brother's name." I said. "What?" "Yeah. Look, Ethan Wes Mitchell, born December 5th 1989." I told him. "Here, use mine and send a friend request." He suggested. "What if I've just been mourning my brother for all these years for him to not even be dead? I'm scared." I told him. "It'll be alright. We just gotta wait now." He said and I nodded.
