Her Fight For Freedom

Chapter 27

"MIYLA!!" I hear Halo shriek out behind me. His blood curdling cry echoes throughout the sky.

A small wolf figure lay breathing slowly. Her brown fun is stained with blood, both hers and foxes.

Halo stands next to her body looking down at her. His whimpers fill the air as he keeps nudging his mate. He looks at me in agony.

A strike of fear shoots through my heart. I stare at the body in fear. My mouth hangs open as I look at Halo.

I rush over to them being followed by the rest of my pack. As I watch Kayla's body rise and fall slowly, I jump over fox carcasses and wolf carcasses. My paws run through blood puddles and slash it up my leg.

I finally reach Kayla who is wincing at the pain. She has a gash across her stomach and even going into her ribs. Her blood leaks out of her body. The wound looks fatal, even if we tried to save her she would be dead with in minutes.

"Miyla," She whistles out of her body somehow. Her eyes wince in pain from her stomach moving as she speaks. "Be careful." She says as she looks at me with loving eyes even though she's dying. She looks slowly over to Halo who is whimpering every second.

He perks up when she looks at him, but his happy face disappears once her eyes meet his. His eyes tear up and he lays down next to her. He rests his head on her paws. He snuggles into her as they both whimper together.

Her breathing becomes shorter. Halo whips his head from on top of her neck. Her breathing is now thinner as we all look down to the dirt.

Tala snuggles into me, sniffing and whimpering. Shurno starts to walk towards Halo to get him to settle down, but Halo all the sudden goes mad.

"No! No! No! Kayla No! You can't leave me! We had plans Kayla! We were going to have pups!" He screams loudly as he nudges her head. Her lifeless carcass doesn't move and inch.

"No!!!!!" He growls. He whips around and takes a leap at Shurno. Shurno being awesome and trained for years has no problem pinning Halo down with ease. Halo's eyes show pure fear and anger.

"Let me go!" He growls intensively at Shurno. Shurno takes a glance at me waiting for me to give a decision. I give a slight nod.

The instant Shurno takes the slightest relief of weigh, Halo squirms from under Shurno and dashes into the forest. Shurno looks at me with question as we all watch Halo run off in agony.

I look down at the little, brown, dead wolf at my feet. I stare down at it as Tala cries in emotional pain into my fur. Her sobs and whines flow through the cold, crisp air.

"Shurno, Tala. Go get him, but be careful. Nyon and his army are still out there." I say to them. I receive a glare of affection from Shurno and a confused state from Tala. She lifts her head from into my fur and takes a few steps back. Her confusion is no longer in her eyes, but the agony of loosing Kayla still stays in her stare.

"Yes Alpha." Replies Tala acting like a robot. She chuckles at her comment and scurries off after Shurno.

A tight smile forms across my face before Tala is no longer visible. I redirect my attention to the brown, small, wolf carcass by my feet. I looks down at it with a whimper escaping my lungs and out of my mouth.

"We will get Halo back, Kayla." I reassure her. Even though she can't hear me I still feel as if she's standing next to me.

"Alpha Miyla." Says a masculine voice from behind me. I turn around to see a sexy, middle aged wolf trotting to me. He has at least 15 other, big wolves by his side and behind him.

"Yes?" I ask as he stops in front of me. I turn my body so we are face to face. Tears trickle down my face as we look into eachothers eyes. I beg for the tears to stop, but that only makes more tears fall out of my eyes.

"We offer you our protection if we could have to honor to figh along side you." He says as he gestures to his warriors. He looks back to me and bows like I am someone important like a god or something.

"Thank you. You may rise." I say and wait for him to stand back up before I continue. "It will be a honor to fight along side you and your warriors." I say.

A wide and joyful smile spreads across his face. He howls in joy and spins around in happiness. I chuckle, but then he stops.

"Sorry Alpha Miyla." He says apologetically. He bows again with his head fully down to the ground. He lifts his head to see me looking back at Kayla's dead body.

"I am sorry for your loss." He says as he lays next to her carcass. I look at him with confused eyes, but soon realize that he is actually sorry.

"Thank you." I say and look down at her carcass. "I want her put in a den." I order loudly. A few of his warriors jump at my sudden request, but soon do as I order.

A few wolves slowly and carefully walk towards Kayla's carcass. They pick her up with ease and situate her over their back. Her little figure slowly disappears into the darkness of a den.

"Where's your mate?" He asks standing in front of me. He looks around the territory for any carcasses that may look like Shurno's.

"He went to find Kayla's mate." I reply to him. He still looks at me in confusion. "After he saw Kayla take her last breath, he went mad. He ran off into the forest and my mate and my beta went to find him." I continue. His eyes are now filled with worry.

"Nyon and his army are still out there!!! What were you thinking?!" He yells at me. I do not flinch whatsoever at his words.

"I trust they will be back unharmed." I say in a stern and confidence growl. I glare into his eyes bringing him to look down at his paws.

"Right." He says as he plays with the dirt under his paws. He looks back up at me, but quickly looks back down at the dirt.

"SHURNO LET ME GO!" I hear Halo yells as 3 shadows emerge into the clearing. Halo is in Shurno's mouth as Tala trots next to him.

"Shurno, Tala. Welcome back." I say to them with a kind smile plastered across my face. Tala runs up to me and burrows herself into my golden fur. I snuggle back putting my snout on top of her head.

Shurno sets Halo down only to place a paw on his neck. Halo yells and tries to bite Shurno, but he fails.

"Who's this?" Shurno asks in disgust. He lifts his eyebrows waiting for me or him to answer.

"My name is Soabe. I was a warrior of Blaez's before he left." He says as he walks closer to Shurno. "You must be Shurno." Soabe announces. He looks at his huge, muscular body at least 2x bigger than his own.

"Why are you here?" Shurno spits in his face. They look into eachothers eyes before Soabe takes a big breath.

"Alpha Miyla gave me her permission to fight together." He responds. Shurno seems to flick at his words as his massive head spins towards me.

"Is this true?" He asks like Soabe would be lying. I nod my head only to get a scowl from Shurno.

"YEAH NEW MEMBERS!" Tala exclaims as she races towards Soabe. Shurno growls loudly at Tala making her stop frozen in her tracks.

"Hell no. Never will I ever be in a pack with him and his brother ever again!" Yells Shurno.

'Oh boy. Not more drama.'

I am soooooooo sorry I didn't post yesterday. If you were counting then that is the first time that I have missed a day and hopefully it will be the last. I am super sorry!!!! Last night I had a huge writers block and I tried to write but I only got like 200 words written. I swear I will be as loyal to my commitment and since I messed up the day I will try to write another chapter before Friday! Thanks for reading and vote, comment if confused about anything.
