I turn around to find Soabe and his little brother standing with smirks. They look between Shurno and I with their eyes straighten and smirks widened.
"We found Nyon." They say in unison. Their eyes seek surprise, but are very disappointed.
"Good." I answer plainly. I put my head up above theirs to show my dominance.
They look at me completely unprepared for my answer. Their jaws drop and eyes widen. They slump down and put their heads down to show submission. I deny it in a heartbeat.
"Where is he?" I ask forcefully. They jump at my tone and shudder at my cold stare I'm giving them.
"J-Just about 20 miles S-South from here." The little brother stutters and hides behind Soabe.
My eyes straighten and my chest puffs out. The hair on the back of my back stand up and I feel a slight shiver in my bones. My breathing becomes forceful and strong as the oxygen breaks through my nostrils and rushes in the air.
"Let's go." I say, brushing up against Soabe, making him wince. I hear no one following me so I stop and look back with determination and rage in my eyes. "Now!" I growl deeply.
My pack, now down to three wolves including me, flinches at my tone. Their tails quickly shoot under their stomach as they scramble towards me.
Soable get Exon and tell him I got a head start on Nyon. Tell him to bring everyone!" I order Soabe as I start walking towards the forest entrance.
"Wait, Alpha Miyla!" He says as I'm just about to enter the woods. "Everyone?!" He asks with great emphasis. "That almost 200 wolves. I don't think we will need that many. It's just Nyon." He says with doubt.
"Exactly. It's Nyon so we need 200 wolves to get past the coyotes and foxes and other rogue wolves. Don't you understand?! This is Nyon!" I scream at him angered. He looks shocked at my response and nods his head quickly. He skids away as he dashes towards where Exon is.
"We're leaving now." I order my pack and walk into the forest. I hear them scamper after me and whisper about my behavior, but they need to understand that all of this started because prissy little Nyon got jealous. I'm not just going to throw away this opportunity because Shurno and Tala think it's a bad idea to go without back up.
I faintly smell Halo's scent as we walk South. His foot prints begin to become visible in the mud, but his foot prints seem too close together for him to be running.
We come past a tree and the smell of Halo is even stronger. I peek around the trunk of the tree to see blood stains spread across the trunk. My steps become faster and more swift as I pass many trees with blood sprayed across trees.
I stop dead in my tracks. My feet skid a bit before coming to a complete stop and Shurno and Tala almost run into me.
They look at me confused. They try to search the area, but I'm have more keen sense of smell than the both of them combined. They still try to sniff the air.
I flick my tail and try to get their attention, but they are too concerned on finding the thing that made me stop. They are both looking in different directions and they both have their noses stuck up in the air.
I flick my tail once more and this time I get their attention. They put their heads down, but keep their eyes up in case of anything popping out of the woods.
"Get out here, you bastards!" I growl. My hairs on my neck stand up, my tail stays high, and my teeth show violently.
Two, big, male wolves step out of a bush. They keep their heads down and have smirks hidden on their mouths. Their eyes are fixed on me and Tala. I hear Shurno growl deeply behind us.
