Sometime in the past~

Zayn and Liam had been hanging out more often than before and had grown close as friends. Zayn wasn't really as unbearable as Liam thought when he first met him. That was just a bad first impression.

"Why were you so mean to me when we first met?" Liam asked looking at Zayn with a pout.

"I wasn't trying to be mean. I was just being honest. You were out there roaming with such anxious energy that you would had end up as an easy target and I didn't want to let that happen." Zayn answered honestly.

"Aww you wanted to protect me?" Liam asked smiling cheekily.

"Are you really surprised, Leeyum?" Zayn asked raising an eye brow at Liam.

"Not really, no!" Liam answered giggling making Zayn shake his head at him with a fond smile.

"I wanna visit your realm!" Liam said excited.

"And I, yours." Zayn said making Liam gasp in surprise.

"You want to visit the human world? I thought you immortals are disgusted of us!" Liam said surprised.

"Do I look like I'm disgusted of you?" Zayn asked amused.

"No. Tell me what you think of me?" Liam asked seriously. He had just realised Zayn never told him what he felt about Liam.

"I find you pretty." Zayn replied with a smile.

"You find me pretty? You're blind?" Liam said chuckling.

"Blind? Have you even seen yourself in the mirror, Liam? You're literally so pretty the stars would cry out of envy!" Zayn replied seriously making Liam blush.

"Do you really think that?" 

"Yes."

Liam grinned looking up at the starry night sky. Nobody had called him pretty before and now the pretty boy he had been crushing on had called him pretty.

"Whose place do we go to, first?" Liam asked.

"Can we do yours?" Zayn asked and Liam nodded.

"Sure!"

Current time~

"Zee? Liam asked looking up at Zayn's face only to find him asleep.

"How can someone fall asleep so quickly?" Liam mumbled to himself.

"So how exactly are we going to steal this book?" Harry asked frowning at the all possible outcomes where they get caught and executed.

"We'll have to make a plan. Then-" Niall started speaking but got cut off.

"No need to make any plans, Horan. Here." Alex said handing them an old book.

"Angel, what are you doing here?" Harry asked horrified.

"I was with others. Saw that you both looked like you could use some help and decided to help you out. Not a crime, is it?" Alex explained.

"But this is a forbidden book!" Niall said horrified.

"I'll take the fall. You just do what you must. Once done with the book, keep it near the runes, I'll place it back. Just do not let another soul know you have this book, alright?" Alex said and left the house.

Niall and Harry shared looks then just sighed and opened the book. 

Curses: Side-effects & Removal

The book's title read. Niall flipped the pages to the birthmark category.

A person can have their mark turn another colour based on the severity of their crimes. Worst being stripped off their magic and exiled from their realm along with their memories erased so they can't spells even when they want to. If the king seems fit, the person will also have their mark turn black and then be imprisoned in case of an immortal and death in case of a mortal. Though such a case has never been seen before and never shall be as such an atrocious crime is impossible to commit. An example for such a crime is, erasing an entire realm.

"Why would Zayn erase his own realm?" Harry asked frowning.

"Pretty clear he didn't" Niall answered.

"What could Zayn have possibly done then?" Harry asked thinking out loud.

Niall flipped the page searching for his question before stopping on a passage that answered it.

"Can this curse be lifted, you ask?" The simple answer is, no. The complicated answer is, such a thing was never witnessed when the book was being written hence we do not know. The witch who created the curse absolutely denies it having a cure but we like to believe that all curses have a cure. If a time ever comes-we hope not- where one has been cursed falsely, you find a cure and add it to the future edition so it's useful to the rest. For now all we can say is, ask the moonborns.

"Moonborns? now what the fuck is that?" Harry asked annoyed.

"Useless book!" Niall said shutting the book. "But to answer your question Harry, it's the people who are born on full moons with the moonflower on their arms as their marks. They are from the flower realm but are extremely rare as they can control the creatures from the shadow realm." Niall answered.

"So, based on the legend from our school, it must be Louis." Harry said and Niall nodded.

"But he was never found as much as I know." Niall answered.

After a few minutes of silence Harry declared "We're visiting hell!"
