Current time~
Louis would visit everyday with new spells and potions to see any of it would help turn the mark back red but it wasn't working. It has now been 8 months since Zayn and Liam had shifted to the house by the lake. The Angels have been looking for them but always failed thanks to the spell Zayn had cast on the area they lived which veiled them from the rest of the world and only who Zayn allowed could ever come across it, like Louis for example. On request, Zayn had hidden the place from the demons too, including Lucifer and Damon. He didn't understand why Louis asked to do so but did it anyways as he was sure Louis should have some proper reason to ask for such a request. Today Louis went to the house a huge smile on his face for a change.
"Hey, want some coffee?" Liam asked from the dining table.
"No thanks, Payno. Just had my breakfast!" Louis answered.
"Ahh, okay!" Liam replied and sipped on his cup of coffee.
"Where's he?" Louis asked sitting across Liam.
"Still sleeping. You're here rather early." Liam shrugged.
With or without memories, one thing never changed and that was Zayn and his habit of sleeping in until late morning.
"What brings you here so early?" Liam asked curious.
"I finally figured out what's turning his feathers back red!" Louis replied excited.
"What is?" Liam asked perking up.
"Take three guesses" Louis grinned seeing Liam frown.
"His memories?" Liam guessed and Louis shook his head.
"His powers?" Liam guessed again and Louis shook his head once more.
After thinking for a while Liam guessed one last time "Him uncovering truths about himself he didn't know all his life?" Louis shook his head again.
"Then what?!" Liam asked giving up.
"You." Louis answered with a smile.
"Me?" Liam asked confused "You better not be fucking with me right now, Tomlinson!" Liam said glaring at Louis.
"Ahh chill, Li! Why would I do that? Sure I love getting on your nerves but I ain't THAT bad of a person now!" Louis exasperated making Liam roll his eyes.
"So are you gonna answer my question now or what?" Liam asked running out of patience.
"You are turning it back red because Liam, you are LOVING HIM BACK RED! He was put through SO MUCH shit that it completely killed him from within! He had turned into a walking-breathing dead body but you, YOU made him come back to life! You healed him just by existing and being there for him, Liam you sunshine, you LOVED my brother back RED!!!" Louis said overjoyed as he got up from his seat and hugged Liam as Liam started crying overwhelmed.
After calming down, Liam pulled back from the hug and wiped away his tears before looking at Louis "Is that why they're after me?" he asked
"Yes, I think they know" Louis answered.
"They always did." Liam said realising.
"We need to check the progress and complete what was left incomplete before they find the two of you again!" Louis said determined and Liam nodded.
Two hours later, Zayn came downstairs while sleepily rubbing his eyes
"Good morning" Zayn mumbled.
"Good morning Sunshine!" Liam grinned.
"Good morning moonshine!!" Louis said in a high pitched voice earning a smack on the back of his head from Liam.
"Ow! You'll kill me!" Louis said rubbing his head.
"UH-HUH" Liam replied as he rolled his eyes.
Zayn watched the both of them with amusement before finally speaking
"What are you doing here, Lou?" Zayn asked looking at Louis in confusion.
"Waiting for ya sweetie" Louis replied.
"Will you STOP FLIRTING WITH MY MAN, LOUIS?!" Liam asked absolutely annoyed.
Zayn went and wrapped his arms around Liam's waist and kissed his cheek before resting his head on Liam's shoulder "Doesn't matter, I only love you" Zayn said making Liam grin.
"OUCH YOU WOUND MY HEART, MALIK!" Louis said clutching his heart.
"Shut up drama queen!" Zayn said rolling his eyes.
"Now answer my question, what are you doing here?" Zayn asked.
"Will you both stop sticking to each other?" Louis asked.
"Nuh-uh. He's so warmmm and cuddlllyyy, I ain't gonna let go even if I were to die right this second" Zayn answered making Louis sigh while Liam just giggled.
"I'm here to check on the progress of your mark. Is it completely red yet?" Louis asked.
"Oh I totally forgot about that!" Zayn said pulling away from Liam. He took a few steps back before unfurling his wings.
