Caleb drove me to New York and it was amazing. It was so cool looking at all the different styles of houses outside Stonewell because they were all different and beautiful in their own ways. All the houses in Stonewell were mostly old traditional buildings that looked the same as the other you saw just along the road.

Sitting back in the car listening to music was especially relaxing but being their with Caleb made it even better, I think that fact that he had no secrets to try and hide from me anymore actually made us closer. The heat, the electricity, the passion was still there in the looks he gave me, the little smiles and when his skin from his hand touched mine and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. My mind felt free now that I knew for sure that this was my choice to come here with him and now I knew exactly what I wanted.

"We could go more places if you want to." Caleb said when I told him that I'd always wanted to go to New York. "We could go anywhere, you name it. Italy, Japan, Spain anywhere."

I smiled. "Everywhere. I want to go everywhere."

I closed my eyes and went to sleep, the smell of leather and jelly bean air freshener filling my head. When I hoped my eyes the city was sparkling with different colored light, illuminating the car and making the busy streets look magical and enchanted. It was glad that we kept stopping at the red lights all the time so I could study it more, looking at the different kinds of people walking around and the different types of buildings. Caleb laughed at me when I started getting excited when we drove by the Empire State Building, I was like a little kid pointing at everything when we drove by.

"What was this place like 40 years ago?"

"Different. Just as busy but people had very different dress senses, luckily I could still wear this jacket and fit in at that time." He smiled.

"Did you have fun in the 60s? When I hear about all the poodle skirts and the jukeboxes it sounds amazing."

"Not really, the 60s are overrated when your a confused, lonely vampire in a big city. It was the 80's that really livened me up and it was really fun actually, I was in all the bars partying away." He smiled into the distance, reminiscing about those times.

"Why don't you still do it now? What's stopping you?"

"The law isn't on my side and it's hard to get ID when your a 100 and something year old 19 year old." He laughed.

"I guess, you could always get fake ID or just compel them."

"Maybe, it's hard with so many people on vervain."

"What? There's vampires in New York?" I looked around as if I could see a colony of Dracula's walking on the sidewalk.

"This place is vampire central, the place is crawling with them."

"So we might see Edward Cullen while were here? How do you walk in the sun anyways, or do you sparkle?"

"Ha ha. I use this necklace, it protects me." He pulled a long chain out from underneath his t-shirt, it had a big blue stone hanging on the end of it.

I touched it lightly, stroking the blue stone with my fingertip. "Cool."

He tucked it back under and parked the car in a car park. "Here we are."

"Where is here exactly?"

"The hotel were staying at." He got out of the car and went over to my side so fast I could barley see him, he opened the door.

"How did you do that?"

He shrugged. "It's one of the perks of being a vampire."

I shook my head and got out. "Now your just showing off."

We checked into the office and got our key, then climbed a massive set of stairs to the sixth floor. My rucksack was extremely heavy so I dumped on Caleb and I really started to feel like a puny human as he carried on no problem beside me. He unlocked the door to revel a tiny room with one double bed standing lonely in the middle.

"Shit, I asked for a double room. I'll go down to the office and tell them there's a been a mix up, I'm so sorry."

"No, it's fine. We can share a bed and not make it awkward, right?"

So I went into the bathroom and got changed into the cutest pj I found, a little grey vest top with a duck on it and little short things. I came out and saw Caleb sitting on the bed without a shirt on and had to go back into the bathroom. His rippling muscles were exposed for the first time and I felt the warmth inside me grow stronger.

"Sam? You okay?" I could hear him outside the door, waiting for me.

"Yeah, just a minute."

I took a deep breath then opened the door and Caleb almost had the same reaction but was much better at counseling it than me. We looked away from each other awkwardly and both of us bright red in the face and then got into bed. We both lay back, thinking what to do next until we both started laughing unexpectedly. We both feel asleep at the same time I think but as I stumbled into a spiral of weird dreams.

I had a dream that I was in some sort of hall and it was full of doors lining every inch of wall. I opened one and saw Caleb was in it, he was sitting on the floor looking broken and hollow. I ran over immediately to comfort him but he shouted at me, it was like an animistic roar that made me freeze to the stop and shiver in fear. He looked up and I saw his face, his eyes were dark and full of red with long, dark veins snaking out from underneath them. But worst of his mouth was full of razor sharp teeth and was dripping with blood from the body beneath him, then I saw it was my Mom's. I opened my mouth to scream but no sound came out as I watched him dive back in and tear her neck apart, ripping her open to throw away pieces of her only to then diving back in again. Then it's face changed and I felt a presence beside me, it was Caleb. He put his arm around me in comfort as he thing turned round again and we saw it's true form. It was Dr. Cawfield.

I woke up with a start and saw I was cuddling into Caleb with my head resting on his bare chest, feeling the muscles quiver underneath me as he breathed in and out. I ran outside in my pjs to get some air.

"You okay?"

I looked back and saw him walking towards me and blushed, looking forward to the traffic again.

"I needed some air."

He smiled and stood next to me, leaning on the railing. "Bad dream?"

I nodded and I continued to stare out at the traffic, wrapping my arms around my body to keep myself warm.

"Coming back in? I'm dead and even I think it's freezing out there." He put his arm around me for warmth and I snuggled into him, resting my head on his shoulder just like I usually did. It felt good, our bare skin touching each other and I couldn't help but feel the muscles in his arm and chest again.

I smiled lightly. "Sure, just needed some air."
