My hands were wrapped around Caleb's neck so tightly, pulling his mouth closer to mine as our tongues danced together and explore each others mouths. He had his fingers tangled in my wet hair, making me want him even more. The current between us grew stronger with every touch and movement scolding us and keeping us warm in the pouring icy ran. We broke away breathing heavily, our faces still leaning on each others and both grinning widely as we heard the lift slowing down and opening it's doors. He grabbed my hand and pulled me in the lift so we could kiss again. The lift turned into a sauna as we got deeper into the kiss and he pinned me up against the wall. We laughed at the lift opened to more people, red in the face and staring at us in disgust. We waited until we reached the ground floor and then ran out together into the busy street again. This time I had much more energy and ran with Caleb swerving through people and under their umbrellas instead of falling behind. We ran down several streets and then to a dodgy looking bar that Caleb said he use to go to a lot.
We went in, me breathless from running and shook ourselves like dogs who had just dived into a river without their owners consent. It was a really edgy bar called The Billy's, it was painted black and peeling aged stickers were hung all the walls so it looked like a place were Nirvana would play or something. Right now it looked like an abandoned bar because it was painfully empty but Caleb assured me that once night came it would be busy and thriving. Then we heard a noise from the room behind the bar and a tired voice called out to us.
"We're not open yet, come back later." A young muscular guy with light brown hair came out cleaning a glass with a dish towel, concentrating on the glass more than us.
"Shawn?" Caleb dropped my hand and walked over to the bar.
"Caleb?" He put down the glass and then jumped over the bar, pulling Caleb into a man hug and slapping his back.
"You still work here?" Caleb laughed.
"Well, it pays the bills. You didn't tell me you'd be back in town."
"It was sort of a last minute thing."
The guy suddenly noticed me and he looked like I was a hamburger on a plate. "Who's this? Your own personal blood bag?" He laughed and slapped his back again. "You sly dog!"
"No, no. It's not like that at all," He walked over to me and put arm around me, coaxing me forward. "this is my girlfriend Sam. Sam, meet Shawn one of my oldest friends."
Girlfriend. It made me feel warm inside.
"I'm not that old you dick!" He laughed. "Only like sixty years older than you."
"Okay then grandpa, so are you going to get us some drinks or not?"
"Drinks, now your talking." He rubbed his hands together then brought out three shot glass and filled them with some alcohol I didn't know of. "Let's hope your girl loosens up a bit with a few of these." He said in a low voice to Caleb before he shot him a look.
So I took some shots with them just to shut Shawn up. I hated him and how he was egging me on to drink more after I'd just downed two. The way he was looking at me made me uncomfortable as well like he wanted to eat like I was his own personal buffet. I look another shot just to make me feel a bit better about the whole thing but then Caleb touched my arm.
"Are you sure you should be drinking all that?"
"Why? Don't think I can handle it?"
"Oooh! I told you she'd loosen up with a couple of these." He looked at me and licked his lips. "She's got fire."
Then some people came in and Shawn switched on the music, it was opening time. They came over to the bar and then took a couple of shot so they could loosen up and dance. Shawn kept pressuring me to dance, telling me it would be really cool and sexy but then Caleb stopped him.
"Actually, I think you should dance Sam." He smiled and held out his hand. "Dance with me?"
I took it laughing and he lead me onto the dance floor in front of the stage. He pulled me closer to him by my waist, dancing slowly until I let myself go. We danced faster to the edgy dance music our bodies rubbing against each other in perfect rhyme, causing the already hot club to turn into a the inside of a volcano. He picked me up and lifted me into the air so the whole crowd cheered and wolf whistled then lowered me down slowly so I could kiss him. We danced faster for another hour until I started to feel light headed from all the heat and when to sit down on one of the couches in the corner. Caleb carried on without me as a punk rock band took to the stage and started singing about rebelling and stuff. Shawn came over with an icy glass of coke and gave it to me.
"Thanks." I said breathlessly and took a sip, then I noticed it was fizzing more than usual and looked at him with shocked eyes. "You...?"
"There you go, I've done what you asked. Here's his girl now please, leave Mia alone." He begged, tears filling his eyes.
"Too bad I already slit her throat, shame..." A deep voice said sarcastically from behind me. "Take her and lets get out of this place, I really hate punk."
I felt a big pair of arms pick me up and throw me over their shoulder. I tried to scream and protest but the thing that Shawn had put in my drink was already making me lose consciousness. The big guy carried me out on this shoulder as my eye lids started to droop and Shawn looked up at me as I was being taken further and further away from Caleb.
The last thing I remembered was Shawn saying "I'm sorry.", and then I blacked out.
