We went to sleep again, curled up in each other's arms. It was kind of like we were dating now even though it wasn't official or anything but friends definitely didn't do this sort of thing, not even if they were really close. I woke up and pretended that I was still asleep, savoring the moment and feeling the heat run through out bodies.

"Morning." Caleb opened on eye and smiled at me.

I kept my eyes closed, feeling his arms wrap tighter around my waist and pulling me closer. "How did you know I was wake?"

"Your heart beat changed, if that doesn't sound weird at all."

"You can hear my heart beat?"

"Yeah." He got up and sat me lightly on the bed beside him. "If we stay like this your heat beat is normal, fluttering beautifully at a normal pace. When your asleep your beat is slower and more relaxed, then right when you wake up it stops slightly and then carries on as normal."

"That's weird, but kind of cool at the same time."

"And if I do this." He ran his fingertip up my arm lightly, causing sparks to fly out from the tiny hairs and the places he touched. "Your heart rate increases slightly. And this."

He stroked the hair away from my face and pulled me close so our lips were closer to each others, our eyes were locked and the current flowing stronger now. "It grows stronger, pounding harder" I felt my heart racing so fast it could explode. "And this."

He moved in closer then my phone rang and cut us off, I looked at the caller ID and it was my Dad so I had to answer.

"Hi Dad." I walked away from him and jumped off the bed.

Dad asked me how I was getting on and I sent him the picture I had taken last night.

"I'll send you more tonight, we going to explore today so I'll have plenty of pictures for you."

"That's good, I was thinking of taking you to New York. Me and your mom use to go there sometimes and it was really good, Liz always loved the city life..." He stopped, his voice suddenly thick.

"I know Dad, its okay." I said trying to comfort him.

"Well anyway, have fun kiddo and be careful! New York is great but you have to watch yourself. I hope Caleb is looking after you well."

"He is, thanks again for changing your mind. I'll see you soon!"

"Bye, Sam. And remember to send me those pictures so I'll feel like I'm there and not a sad man alone and missing his daughter."

I laughed. "Bye!" I hung up and looked at Caleb. "So, how about we go exploring now?"

"Okay, sure."

I got changed in the bathroom into a grey jumper, black jeans and brown boots to look cute yet comfy. I did my make-up and then came out to find out that Caleb was wearing something similar to me and we laughed. He stuffed his wallet in his pocket and then grabbed the keys and locked the hotel door. I went to his car, ready to get in but Caleb walked straight past it.

"No, I want you to get the full New York experience." He grinned at me and held out his hand. "We walking."

I took it and walked with him down the bust streets, trying to keep as close to him as possible so that I didn't lose him in the crowd. When went to through the famous Times Square and Caleb bought us a massive pepperoni pizza cone to share. It was greasy and deep fried and it tasted delicious, we took turns biting into it and it felt like a scene from Lady and the Tramp. We couldn't finish it all by ourselves so we binned the rest and carried on exploring. We walked through the busy crowds again, diving through the stern faces like little kids with Caleb pulling me along.

We walked for what seemed his ages and now I really wished we'd taken his car, even though I knew we'd never actually go anywhere in this traffic or get parked. My feet were killing me when we reached the Empire State Building, it was massive big than I'd ever imagined. Caleb took me inside and we went in the elevator with a bunch of busy, annoyed business people. I would get really pissed off if tourists kept coming into to their workplace too, so I couldn't help but feel really awkward and anxious.

Soon the lift was empty besides from me and Caleb as we traveled further and further up to the top, he grinned at me and his eyes twinkled in excitement. I tried to get as happy as he was but I had no energy left from all the walking, I think he forgot this because he was so use to his vampire powers. I started to feel a bit panicked in the small space of the lift but he gave my hand a comforting squeeze, he was made me feel so at ease, so much better than the person I actually was. I kept waiting for the perfect time to kiss him, I really wanted it now. I felt like grabbing him by his leather jacket and pinning him against the walls of the lift but I kept my cool as another set of tourists came in from the 40th floor surprisingly.

Then we reached the 86th floor after about twenty minutes of the old couple trying to chat to us about their lives and other stuff I didn't really care about. I was childish and arrogant to them and I didn't know why, maybe it was the lack of energy or it was the fact someone else had ruined my chance at kissing Caleb. They tried to be nice to me but I completely shut them down every time they did, Caleb however was perfectly nice and kept asking them questions instead of talking to me. Maybe he didn't want to kiss me after all, maybe he was the one who kept delaying it. How could he just say all that in the car about wanting to protect me and me being the only one he cared about just to make me want him even more than I already did. I sighed, man I was such a jealous cow, all he was doing was talking to talking to an old lady and he husband about their travels.

I stormed out of the lift as soon as Caleb said to them "Well, this is our stop." in a cheery voice. He ran after me out into the observation desk and touched my arm but I pulled away.

"Sam..."

I turned around and kissed him then, with the rain pouring down on us.
