He got in and stepped on the gas pedal, speeding away from the scene with a face as white as chalk. He ran a hand through his hair and then thumped the wheel.

"He was the only other friend I had. We'd known each other for years and now..." He wiped his eyes.

"It's okay, Caleb." I touched his arm with my good arm.

"No, none of this is okay you were almost killed today! Your leg and your poor arm! How the hell are we going to explain this to your Dad?"

"We'll get through this, I know we will."

He shook his head. "This is all my fault, Mikels going to come after us and he's going to kill you and..."

"Shhh! Just keep driving, concentrate on the road. He won't find us, he doesn't know where we live judging by the fact that he waited for you to come to New York."

Caleb looked at me. "We need to get you to a hospital, Sam. I can't just keep driving."

"No, I'm fine. Just keep going..." My mind started to lose concentration, my eye lids drooping again.

"Sam? Sam!"

I shut my eyes, fading away again...

I woke up in a white room, a yellow light shining dimly above my head. I tried to move but a hand touched my arm softly, comforting me.

"Don't try to move, kiddo. Your pretty messed up." My Dad chuckled softy and then looked at me with a worried face, his eyes tired and his face had more frown lines than I remembered.

"Dad? Where am I?"

"Your in hospital, love. You had a pretty bad accident."

"What happened?"

"You don't remember? You fell down the stairs after some guy pushed you."

"What?"

"Well, a guy didn't push you but that's what I assume. Caleb brought you back here from your hotel somewhere near by, I can't remember the name of it."

"Where is Caleb?"

"He's at his house right now getting a few things, he insisted on staying the night to make sure you were okay. I told him to swing by our house and get some stuff for you as well so he'll be hear soon."

I looked around and saw a huge bouquet of flowers, the were beautiful and smelled heavenly.

"Who are the flowers from?"

"Oh, their from your friend Isaac. He was hear about an hour ago and he was so upset." I'd left out the bit about the bonfire with Isaac, I knew if I told him Dad would kill him.

"Oh, that's nice." I said awkwardly.

"Kayla came too with her boyfriend, she brought chocolates for you if you want them." He passed a box over with some missing. "I had some of them, I hope you don't mind."

"It's okay, I don't like chocolate orange." I said smiling.

"Why don't you have a couple and then try and get some rest?" He looked at the card with the kinds of chocolate on it and popped a chocolate caramel in my mouth.

I laughed. "Thanks." I smiled and ate it, savoring the sweet caramel gliding over my tongue.

"Now, try and get some sleep kid." He patted my shoulder gently. "Night."

"Goodnight."

I shut my eyes and immediately went into a deep, dreamless sleep.

I woke up again and it was much darker inside the room. A sleeping Caleb was sunken into an arm chair next to me with his arm laying across the table to hold my hand and snuffing softly in this sleep. He sounded so cute when he was sleeping, he didn't snore just breathed a little heavier than normal and it was really relaxing watching him. Then he suddenly woke up and gave me a tired smile, his dimples showing a little making me feel warm inside.

"Hey." He gave my hand a soft squeeze.

"Hi." I gave him a smile back and intertwined my fingers with his.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better." I sighed.

"That's good. How's your arm?"

"I can't even feel it. What did you tell my Dad?"

"I told him you fell down a flight of concrete stairs outside our hotel when we were on our way back, he was a bit pissed that it happened when I was suppose to be looking after you but he's glad your okay. He told me sternly that I can't take you on anymore road trips until your 21 and I agreed."

"What about Mikel? Any sign of him?"

"No, I think your right. I think he doesn't know where we are and I made sure that no one was following us. It's been a few days since then so I think we're okay for now."

"I will be better when you give me a wake up kiss." I grinned, making him laugh.

"Wow, that was really corny but I'll give you one anyway."

He walked over without letting go of my hand and then kissed my forehead. I laughed and wrapped one arm around his neck to bring him closer to my mouth. We kissed sending waves of heat all over my body, he caressed my cheek with hand and let me in. We went deeper into the kiss he climbed on top of me, pressing down on me and kissing my neck. I sighed closing my eyes and gripping the pillow with my good hand, relishing in the pleasure. Just then we heard voices and broke apart, grinning widely at each other as Caleb got off my bed and sat back in the arm chair. A nurse came in to check the cupboard at the end of my bed but we still glazed into each others eyes, letting the heat flow between us intensely pretending like nothing ever happened...
