A Darker Love

Chapter Two- Unwanted Protection

"I can't believe it! You of all people to meet a mysterious, dark and hansom stranger in a little town like this!" Kayla shook her head at me and looked at my paper. "And he's brilliant at math!"

I told her about everything that happened with Caleb as she gasped and stared at me shocked through a mouthful of fries. We had shoved all my books and stuff back in my bag and ordered onion rings for me and fries for her, we needed munchies to eat while I was filling her in. Then Isaac came over, he was still a bit red but he'd calmed down a bit and looked less like he wanted to kill someone.

 "Who was that guy Sam? He could have been a serial killer or something, you need to be careful!"

"Calm down, he was just some guy."

"Just some guy?! You didn't even know him! I was ready to called the cops if he didn't leave you alone."

I sighed. "Just 'cause he undermined your authority..." I said under my breath and eating another onion ring.

Awkward silence. It was Kayla who finally broke it.

"Still, fancy you meeting some hotty and getting him to help you with your maths!"

"Me came over to me! I couldn't exactly say be rude and say no."

"Yes you could, Sam. Just say no, it's not that hard!"

"Urgh! Stop trying to protect me all the time! God, your so annoying!" I sank back into my seat with my arms folded.

"I'm only looking out for you Sam! Is it so bad that I don't want my girl to get kidnapped or worse."

"Stop calling me that!" I got up, fuming. "I'm not your little girlfriend! Just because your jealous because some guy wanted to talk to me doesn't mean you can stop me from talking to him!" I grabbed my bag and walked out of the grill, ignoring him calling my name.

I walked down the road and to the the alleyway that took my straight to my house, it was a bit dodgy but it cut ten minutes off my walk home. I walked through it quickly, trying to go as fast as I could without running. I'm sure I heard someone calling my name but I didn't look back just in case I was wrong and someone jumped out at while I wasn't looking or it was Isaac trying to catch up to me.

God, why did he have to be so protective? I got that he was trying to be a good friend but it was like he was trying to suffocate me or put me on a leach. I already told him that I didn't want a boyfriend right now but he still acted like I was his and to be honest, I hated it. I didn't want to be know as "The Quarterback's Girl" or "Isaac Fell's chick". I knew he cared about me, a lot but I wasn't ready for it. I've talked to Kayla about it but she just says that I should give it a shot.

She called me when I got home, she said her and Isaac were worried about me.

"I'm fine, Kayla. I just get so annoyed with him sometimes, he knows I don't want a boyfriend right now but he still keeps on pushing."

"Why don't you try it? C'mon Sam, you can't keep stringing him along like this, he's been waiting for you for like two years now."

"I'm not stringing him along, I thought he was cool with us being just friends."

"Well, he's obviously not fine with it. He was heartbroken when you left he though you were never going to speak to him again."

"Of course I'd still speak to him." I sat down on my bed. "I just don't want a boyfriend."

"I know. He's just really protective 'cause he knows what you've been through."

"A bit over protective." I crossed my arms.

"Now, can we talk about this Caleb you've been mathing it up with?"

I snorted with laughter. " 'Mathing it up with'?! Oh my god Kayla."

"What? It's true, isn't it! You used being crap at maths as a ruse to get his number, admit it!"

"Goodnight Kayla!"

"Wait! Could you give me some tips?" 

I snorted again. "Goodnight!" Then hung up.

I got changed into my pjs and took my medication so I could go to sleep.  Then I went to bed but I couldn't help letting a mysterious, dark and hansom guy with intense icy eyes into my dreams...
