Taylor adjusted the camera setup in the podcast space, shifting the angle slightly as she checked the lighting on the monitor. Behind her, she could hear him moving things around, grabbing her water bottle, making sure her chair was comfortable, adjusting the mic stand so she didn't have to reach too far. It was quiet fussing, the kind that made her heart squeeze.
"Babe, it's perfect," she assured him, glancing over her shoulder with a soft smile.
Travis didn't stop. "Yeah, but if you're sitting here for over an hour, I want you comfortable," he murmured, still focused on the setup.
She stood, stepping into his space and looping her arms around his waist, pressing her cheek against his chest. It was meant to be a quick hug, but the second he exhaled and his body sagged into hers, she realized how much weight he was carrying.
His arms came around her, holding tight, and he buried his face in her neck. "What you said on New Heights..." His voice was rough, thick with emotion. "I don't even know how to explain what that meant to me."
Her fingers slid up the back of his neck, scratching lightly. "You don't have to explain it," she whispered. "Just feel it. You're allowed to feel all of this."
A shuddering breath left him, his grip on her tightening. "You're too good to me," he murmured, his lips brushing over her shoulder.
Taylor pulled back slightly, just enough to look up at him. His eyes, deep and overwhelmed, were locked on hers, his hands splaying over her belly. When he kissed her, it was slow and deep, the kind that made the world tilt under her feet. No matter how many times he kissed her, it always felt like the earth shifted.
A quiet chime from the laptop broke the moment. Taylor sighed against his lips. "That's my cue."
Travis sighed dramatically, giving her belly one last rub before pulling back. "Go be great, baby."
She settled into the chair, slipping on her headphones as the call connected. Emma, Kylie's producer, popped up first, checking levels and making sure everything was good to go. In the preview window, Taylor could already see Kylie sitting on-screen, her two oldest daughters squirming in her lap.
Lifting her headset slightly, Kylie grinned. "Oh, good, you're here. The girls need to talk to Auntie Tay first."
Taylor's heart melted instantly. "Well, I'm all ears! What's up, my little ladies?"
Both girls immediately started talking at once, their voices overlapping with pure excitement.
"We had dance class today!" "Miss Diana played Shake It Off!" "To get the sillies out!"
Taylor gasped dramatically. "No way. You guys danced to Shake It Off without me?!"
The girls nodded eagerly, wiggling in Kylie's lap as they fought for space. She laughed, adjusting them so they didn't topple over. "They're obsessed."
Taylor covered her mouth, laughing. "That sounds like a performance I need to see."
Kylie shot her a look. "I recorded it. I'll text it to you later."
Emma's voice crackled through the headset. "Alright, ladies, we're good to go whenever you are."
Kylie set the girls down, ruffling their hair before slipping her headset back on. She adjusted her mic, then leaned in with a playful yet sincere grin. "Alright, let's do this." Clearing her throat, she shifted into her official podcaster voice.
"I have no business talking to this person, but somehow, here we are. She's not just a global icon, a record-breaking musician, or the most analyzed woman on the planet. She's someone who has spent her career uplifting women, championing young girls to pick up a pen, write their own stories, and take up space in rooms they were never supposed to be in. She's proven time and time again, that success and power don't have to come at the cost of kindness. She's an artist, a storyteller, and a force." Kylie smirked at the camera, then turned back to Taylor. "She's also my brother-in-law's much, much better half... Taylor Swift."
