"Babe, where are we going?" Freen asked Becky as she guided her into the room.
"Freen, why did you drink so much?" Becky replied, helping her lie down on the bed. She grabbed a cold towel and gently wiped Freen's face.
"I don't want to do the MBA," Freen confessed.
"Then just tell your dad," Becky said softly, looking at Freen with concern.
"You know how he is, babe. He never gives me the option to speak!" Freen sighed.
"How long are you going to stay quiet about this, babe?" Becky asked, her voice filled with gentle encouragement.
Freen knelt down in front of Becky, her eyes brimming with tears. "Are you sure, Becky? Do you really love me, even though I'm too much of a coward to talk to my dad about my career... and about us?"
Becky smiled and tilted Freen's chin up to meet her gaze. "Listen, Freen. I don't know why I love this idiot, but I can't live without you. I can be anything you need, but don't ever think that you could have someone other than me." Becky playfully pinched Freen's cheeks.
"Can I sleep on your lap?" Freen asked, her voice small.
Becky nodded, gently guiding Freen to rest her head on her lap. After an hour, when Freen had fallen asleep, Becky carefully laid her down on the bed and grabbed her phone.
"Yes, BecBec?" Jennie answered, her voice groggy from sleep.
"Jennie, I need a favor," Becky asked quietly.
"Anything for you, my baby. What's up?" Jennie responded, rubbing her eyes.
"Can you talk to your dad about Freen's postgrad? She's not happy about doing the MBA," Becky explained.
"Why? What happened?" Jennie asked, more alert now.
"She's just not into it, Jennie. Please help," Becky insisted.
"Okay, I'll talk to him. I'll figure something out," Jennie promised.
"Thanks, Jennie. And tomorrow morning, can you pick her up from my place?" Becky asked.
"Of course, BecBec. Goodnight," Jennie yawned, ending the call.
The next morning, Freen woke up with a pounding headache. Becky walked in with a glass of lemon soda.
Seeing Becky, Freen acted like a child, hugging her tightly. "Becky, it hurts so much," Freen groaned.
"Then why did you drink, madam?" Becky asked, giving Freen an angry look.
"It's just..." Freen mumbled, rubbing her neck.
"Forget it. Just drink this. Jennie's coming soon to pick you up," Becky replied, holding out the lemon soda.
Before Freen left, Becky leaned in and kissed her forehead. "Everything will be fine one day," Becky whispered, pinching Freen's cheeks.
Freen smiled and nodded, feeling comforted by Becky's words.
