Chapter 39

Freen changed her clothes and finished her work before heading to bed. Just then, her phone started to ring.

Freen glanced at the dial pad and saw it was Becky. Checking the time, she realized it was 2 AM. She answered the call.

"Hey, Becky! Are you still awake?" Freen asked.

"Sorry if I disturbed you," Becky replied.

"Not at all! I thought you were sleeping."

"No, I can't. I started to miss someone," Becky said.

"Missing? Whom?" Freen asked, intrigued.

"Nothing! Freen, I need to ask you something," Becky said in a low tone.

"Yes, Becky! You can ask me anything. You don't need to ask my permission," Freen reassured her.

"Tell me about your love!" Becky requested.

"About my love? Suddenly?" Freen exclaimed.

"I need to hear about your love. Tell me about your girl," Becky urged.

"Seriously, you don't want to sleep tonight?" Freen asked Becky.

"No! I don't feel sleepy," Becky replied.

"Did you take your pills?" Freen checked on her.

"I think you feel sleepy," Becky teased.

"No! Give me a minute; I'll finish some work," Freen said . After finishing her works ,she sat on the bed, hugging her pillow. "Ask me now. What do you want to know about my love?" Freen asked Becky

"Tell me about your girl," Becky said again.

"What do you want to know about her?" Freen asked.

"How did you meet her?" Becky inquired.

"I met her at my sister's university. I didn't have any feelings for her when we first met. I never thought I would fall for a girl. Back in school, I dated a boy, but we broke up within a year. After that, I didn't have anyone in my life. My dad wanted me to focus on my career."

"Oh! So you have feelings for men too?" Becky asked Freen.

"I never fell for a girl before meeting her. After meeting her, I still didn't have feelings for other girls. She is my exception. I think she belongs to me, but I realized that very late," Freen explained.

"What's her name?" Becky asked curiously.

"Her name? I'll tell you at the right time."

"Oh, don't mistake me! If she comes back into your life, will you accept her?" Becky asked.

Freen urged Becky to go to sleep.

Becky sounded upset with Freen's answer.

"Freen, do you know me from before?" Becky asked.

"No," Freen replied.

"But that day, Sierra said she wouldn't be in between us," Becky continued.

"Maybe she said that because you mistook us . She's not my girlfriend," Freen explained.

"How does Sierra know me?" Becky asked.

"I told her about you and Rhea," Freen replied.

"I feel sleepy! We'll meet tomorrow," Becky said in a low voice.

"You feel sleepy all of a sudden?" Freen realized Becky had accepted her answer.

"Becky, listen! Don't believe everything you hear until you know the other side of the story. Just sleep, and soon everything will be alright!"

"Hmmm, good night!" Becky said before disconnecting the call.

"Becky! You are my queen. I'll make you remember everything soon. Until then, I love you," Freen smiled as she looked at Becky's photo.
