CHAPTER 21 | Weird

It was raining heavily these past few days. I took that time to clean up our apartment as Teresa was in charged of managing the café. She insisted though. Besides it'll serve as my break, as I process the papers needed for my upcoming flight. I was caught up with everything as of the moment. Though I did most of those absentmindedly. I just feel out of myself these days. Maybe after the conversation I had with Joaquin.

I huffed a breath before pushing the vacuum against the floor, shaking off any unnecessary thoughts inside my head. I should focus on much nore greater things. And right now the greatest thing I need to do is to finish up tidying around so that I could take my small time to relax. But just as I drowned in my cleaning asmr; my phone rang loudly. Stealing all my thoughts and attentions. Groaning frustratedly—I picked up the call. Not even looking who it was.

"Hello?"

"Are you somewhat related to Anyaisa Navarro?"

My interest were suddenly piqued. Although I could feel my heart thumped as my mind raced through different horrible scenarios. It's Anya.

"Yes, who is this?" My heartbeat drummed even more.

"I'm Nurse Yna, from San Sebastien Medical Hospital. Unfortunately, Miss Anya is admitted here upon getting involved in a minor car accident. She's in a fine condition now.

"Can we get into your car first, ate?" I was caught off guard upon realizing what she said, hence I didn't show it. I acted fool as I helped her got out of the hospital. I willingly paid all her bills. We got into my car but I didn't drive off yet. Instead I stared at her poor state.

I was only older than her by months, people consider us Irish Twins. But something about the way she called me 'ate', melted my heart. She sighed deeply before staring back at me. The irritation and attitude on her face worn off, so I could see how vulnerable she was at this point.

"Are you going to talk or I'll call your mom about this?" I warned her, raising my eyebrow. She raised hers too, before shrugging nonchalantly. As if she didn't care about what I said.
