After a good night's sleep, Kirby and friends headed out to enjoy Quilty Plaza's scenery.
As the morning skies faded into blue, Kirby decided to head for the Poke Mart near the centre of town to buy some TM's for his Pokémon. The pink trainer thought he could spruce up their move sets with special moves that couldn't be learned through training alone.
As the pink trainer exited the Mart to meet up with Gooey and Parasol an hour later, the film crew from yesterday suddenly turned the corner and were running away from something.
Kirby and co quickly dodged the film crew's comical stampede.
"WAIT! YOU FORGOT ONE OF YOUR MICROPHONES!" Fluff called out, "PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!"
SK. gracefully dashed in front of the crew and called out one of their Pokémon, Luxray.
"They aren't your typical dorky filming crew! They're crooks who think they can ruin the Plaza's good reputation by swiping our Mayor's stuff..." SK. grumbled.
The Gleam Eyes Pokémon used Thunder Wave on the thieves as they fell to the ground in immense pain. The monochrome trainer grabbed one of the crewmates by the collar and glared at them.
"It's so damn funny that you dorks thought you could just waltz in and steal Fluff's jewelry under MY watch!"
Mayor Fluff stood by SK.'s side and gave the disguised thieves the coldest stare he could muster.
Kirby looked onward and shivered, as the duo of powerhouse trainers meant business.
"... HAND ME MY POSSESSIONS AT ONCE!" Fluff ordered in a booming voice.
A group of nearby Swablu jolted in surprise and began flying in circles.
"O-oh, I didn't mean to scare those poor birds-"
"Fluff, you're supposed to look scary in front of the criminals..." SK. whispered.
"A-Ah! Right..." Fluff turned to the thieves, "LEAVE MY TOWN AND DON'T YOU DARE COME BACK!"
"Or else I'll sick my Pokémon on you dorks!" SK. threatened as Luxray's fur rose from irritation.
The group of thieves threw Mayor Fluff's belongings to the ground and bolted out of the town. As the thieves ran away, one of the member's hats was left behind.
"GET BACK HERE!!!"
SK. and Fluff yelled in unison as they ran after the thieves.
One of the startled Swablu picked up the hat and gave it to a curious Kirby, who inspected the article of clothing.
"Um, thank you!"
"BLU!"
The Cotton Bird perched itself on the pink trainer's cap and noticed a subtle insignia. The mark was in the shape of a heart surrounded by bat wings and strange markings.
That symbol... I don't like the look of it! Gooey signed nervously.
"If there's a symbol that's scary-looking, that's a sure sign of a criminal organization," Parasol whispered nervously, "Better not touch it, Kirby! Who knows where that thing's been? "
"It smells like dirty laundry, ew!" Kirby yelped as he tossed the hat back onto the ground.
Swablu nodded in agreement and flew in front of Kirby. The pink trainer held the Cotton Bird and brought out a Poke Ball.
"Oh! Little Swablu! Would you like to be my friend?" Kirby asked as the bird chirped happily.
The bird went into a Poke Ball Kirby held and nested right in. Then, the rest of the wild Swablu hassled Kirby and began pecking at him.
"OW! OW! OW! HEY! I promise to treat Swablu with lots of love and care!"
Gooey's Ditto popped out of its Poke Ball and immediately transformed into one of the Swablu. Ditto, in its disguise, began shooing the birds away with a shockingly scary Dragon Breath attack!
Ditto, it's awfully sweet of you to help Kirby! Gooey signed with pride.
After the wild Swablu and the trio went their separate ways, the three discussed their plans.
"Are you sure you're ready to challenge another Gym Leader?" Parasol asked, "I don't wanna force you to go anywhere,"
"I'm still feeling a little homesick, but I'm gonna be okay. We still have a long journey ahead of us!"
If that's the case, we can take the Dream Train directly to Ripple Woods' main city! It's about to leave, so we better hurry up!
The trio headed toward the east of the Plaza and heard the station's alarm go off.
"Now arriving at Quilty Plaza. Mind the gap and take all of your belongings with you," The P.A. system announced.
Parasol ran ahead and was about to board the train.
"Just in time, come on guys-"
Parasol bumped into another trainer boarding the train and fell over.
"Oww..." The other trainer whimpered as she slowly got back up.
"Oh, my stars! I'm so sorry! Really sorry!" Parasol profusely apologized, "Please don't cry!"
"I think I'm okay, I should have looked where I was going,"
Kirby and Gooey caught up with their older friend and made sure both trainers were alright.
"Are you alright?" Kirby asked both parties.
Parasol nodded, but the other trainer just looked discouraged.
"No. I'm not hurt, but I just lost a big battle against the Mayor. There was no winning that match, especially because of the Sandstorm setup..."
Even though Fluff is our region's youngest Gym Leader, he's no pushover! What matters is that you fought with the best of your ability, Gooey encouraged.
"Plus, fighting in a sandstorm is tricky! You need either a solid steel or ground type, and those kinds of Pokémon are tough to train! You'll get him next time!" Parasol said as the four boarded the Dream Train.
"Thanks for the kind words!" The trainer smiled, "By the way, my name's Ribbon! Nice to meet you!"
My name's Gooey!
"I'm Parasol!"
"And I'm Kirby! It's great to meet you, Ribbon!-"
"Next stop, Ripple City,"
The four trainers spent their train ride chatting about Ripple Town and its Gym Leader, Q. Ripple, a noblewoman famous for her overall compassion and love for fairy Pokémon.
"She's my mentor, and I even fought her for my first gym badge!" Ribbon smiled, "I bet Miss Ripple will take you on right away!"
Before we get off our stop, want to hear a cool Legend about the infamous Mauve Town? Gooey asked the group. I was looking at articles and I happened to stumble upon something neat!
Everyone got comfortable in their seats and looked at the young trainer with excitement.
I found an online article that explains the reason why the Elite Four run Mauve Town and get involved with the trainer's everyday lives. Long ago, our First Champion built a fortress in Mauve Town to protect the soldiers! Many descendants of the Mauve Town people, including Elite Four member Claycia, always make sure everyone gets along and keeps each other safe!
"Woah, I had no idea she was a Mauve Town descendant!" Kirby exclaimed.
"I even heard Miss Claycia's grandparents revamped the town into a city of art and old culture. If it weren't for the strong trainers wanting to battle all the time, I would go there in a heartbeat!" Parasol remarked with a grin.
"Well, we'll eventually pass by there anyway, once I get all my badges! So that's a place to look forward to visiting!"
The four trainers sat in their seats, awaiting their stop within the next thirty minutes.
