As the moon ascended the night skies, Kirby and Togekiss landed at the towering, intimidating front gate of Mauve Town.
The fog began to roll in, creating a chilling atmosphere.
"Badges, please!" One of the guards called out.
Kirby reached into his bag and showed proof of each of them. The other guard, with a stern face, scanned each of them and nodded in approval.
"The Peace Badge! Feather Badge! Ticket Badge! Patch Badge! Crystal Badge! The Silver Amulet! Blade Badge! And finally, the Volcano Badge! Normally we wouldn't let you in, but due to former Gym Leader Hyness' arrest and your Silver Amulet as proof of a courageous trainer, we will make an exception."
Kirby and Togekiss walked past the guards and into the artsy city of Mauve Town. Despite the outside being fortified, the inside of the city was filled with music, beautiful murals and crowds of singing trainers.
As soon as Kirby strolled into town, the pink trainer was met with fanfare and cheering. Many of the citizens gathered around the young trainer and began thanking him and his Pokémon.
"You're a hero to Popstar's people!"
They all shouted with glee.
Kirby couldn't help but smile and wave as he shyly walked past the crowd. He just wasn't used to being in public and praised at the same time.
"T-Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it... Um..."
As soon as Kirby turned around, he made eye contact with Galacta Knight.
The crowd gasped in fear and immediately backed off.
"... So, you're the one that our Champion spoke with..."
Kirby was filled with dread, remembering the huge tantrum the Elite Four member threw at Noir Terminus. Galacta Knight held out his blade to intimidate Kirby.
"Why did they talk to you instead of me?! HUH???"
The people of the town scrutinized Galacta Knight with shame, but the citizens couldn't say anything back to the powerful trainer, lest they wanted to be threatened by him.
"I-I... Um... I don't know! Okay?!" Kirby blurted out in frustration.
"Oh, you're talking back as if you can tell me what to do? I get it,"
The citizens quickly swarmed around Kirby to protect the young trainer. One young lady with a fairy-like cape, pink dress and multi-coloured hair stepped in front of Galacta Knight. She looked him dead in the eye and pointed at him.
"What are you doing here anyway? No one here enjoys your company, you might as well leave!"
"LADY ELLINE! NO!"
"You mustn't speak to an Elite Four member that way!"
"Oh Galacta Knight, right-hand knight of the Butterfly Champion! Please spare her!"
The young artist huffed and turned to the citizens.
"Look! My best friend's grandparents founded this town, and there's no way I'm letting this screaming baby disrespect its people or our visitors!" Elline loudly retorted, "I don't care if Claycia, Keeby, or Taranza can't beat him in a fight! I demand this bozo to leave our town alone!"
Galacta's face was red and was seething in rage.
"... You're only allowed in this town because of that sad, pathetic sculptor... AND YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S ORDERING ME AROUND?!"
