The Elegant Spider: Popstar's Rumble League 4

As Kirby entered the second room, he was greeted by a well-organized bioluminescent garden and a large staircase that led to the arena. The dimly lit chandeliers allowed the pink trainer to march onward and greet Taranza, who sat by the piano playing a sad tune from the Unova region.

"To think I would be free from grief, only for our Champion's moodiness to turn my mood so sour. Honestly, Popstar cannot catch a break these days..." Taranza snarkily turned to Kirby and stood up, "Ah, so you've defeated Keeby?"

"That's right, and I don't plan on stopping my winning streak,"

"As I expected. You did tame the legendary Shapeshifting Pokémon after all, so I don't plan to let you have an easy victory! Are you ready to put your hopes of facing the Champion on the line, Kirby?!"

"More than anything, Taranza!"

"Ah, calling me by my first name instead of my title? Though your battling skills are superb, I should teach you some manners to your superiors!" The Elite Four member smirked and sent out his first Pokémon, "Galvantula! Light Screen!"

"I've been meaning to try this out! Altaria! Mega evolve and use Dragon Dance!" Kirby called out as the Altarianite began to glow.

The Elespider set up a barrier that weakened special attacks and looked at the now Mega Altaria boosting its attacks.

Galvantula wasted no time and attempted to take down the Humming Pokémon with Cross Poison. Mega Altaria endured the attack like a champion and instantly retaliated with a devastating Dragon Claw.

With nothing stopping it, Mega Altaria used another Dragon Dance to boost its stats, while Galvantula stalled with Light Screens and Screech. In the end, Mega Altaria triumphed with another strong Dragon Claw.

Ariados was next to fight for Taranza and began the round with toxic. Mega Altaria was weakened, but it didn't give in to the poison and used Facade to knock down Ariados to a sliver of health. One sludge bomb from Ariados allowed it to win over the poisoned Mega Pokémon.

Scream Tail was sent out and let out a terrifying feral war cry that devastated the Long Leg Pokémon with a single Psychic attack. Vesiquen appeared and began the match with Confuse Ray.

Then the Beehive Pokémon used Destiny Bond to secure a win.

"Don't attack, Scream Tail! Use Howl!"

Scream Tail couldn't properly listen to Kirby's order and used a devastating Dazzling Gleam. However, the attack was luckily, not enough to knock out Vespiquen. The Beehive Pokémon used Toxic to slow down the Past Paradox Pokémon, but Scream Tail barely acknowledged it was poisoned and used a devastating Boomburst that shook the room. Even Vespiquen was caught off guard by the sheer force.

The Past Paradox Pokémon used the few extra moments of shock and latched onto the Beehive Pokémon with a critical-hitting Psychic Fangs.

Vespiquen fainted from the force and Vikavolt took charge of the fight. Scream Tail stumbled from restraining the poison's effects and used Rest to stay in the fight.

Vikavolt used the free turn to use the infamous one-hit KO move, Guillotine.

Scream Tail used Sleep Talk to dodge and use Fire Fangs that burnt the Stag Beetle Pokémon. But Vikavolt stayed determined and attempted to use Guillotine once more. It opened its sharpened pincers and concentrated on finding Scream Tail's weak spot.

In a flash, Scream Tail was caught in Vikavolt's trap and fainted from the agonizing strike. Kirby let Gastrodon take the lead in the fight, as Vikavolt went for a Bug Buzz.

"Sandstorm!"

The Sea Slug Pokémon began stomping about, as dust clouds surrounded the entire area.

"Gah! My garden!" Taranza cried out, "I'll teach you to be more elegant with your move choices! Vikavolt, Bug Buzz again!"

Gastrodon endured the attack and retaliated with a powerful Rock Blast. Vikavolt dodged the first attempt, but couldn't avoid the other rocks. The sandstorm chipped away its last bit of health and knocked out the Stag Beetle.

Octillery popped out of its Luxury Ball and released an Energy Ball. Gastrodon couldn't take the hit and fell to the ground.

Musharna was next to win the match, he used Calm Mind to prepare for the onslaught of Octillery's special attacks. The Jet Pokémon used Fire Blast for a chance to burn Musharna.

The Drowsing Pokémon took the hit and countered with Trick Room, allowing Musharna to move faster. Octillery's special attack went down from the previous Fire Blast, so it used Thief for super-effective damage. Musharna dodged and utilized a devastating Psychic attack that left the Jet Pokémon unconscious on the ground.

"Araquanid! Let's show this uncouth child what we're made of! Use Leech Life!"

"Musharna! Protect!"

The Drowsing Pokémon easily stopped Araquanid and used Psychic. Araquanid wasn't too happy and used Wonder Room to gain Musharna's powerful defences. The Water Bubble Pokémon used Leech Life once more and drained Kirby's Pokémon's health is down to zero.

Togekiss appeared on the battlefield and confidently glared at Taranza's Pokémon. She flew upwards where the Water Bubble Pokémon couldn't reach and used Air Slash until Araquanid had a sliver of health left.

"Togekiss! Aura Sphere!"

Kirby commanded with confidence, knowing the weak fighting move would still win against Araquanid.

"Are you even trying? Fight back with Ice Beam!"

Togekiss swiftly dodged the icy blast of energy and circled around the Water Bubble Pokemon, chipping away with multiple Aura Spheres.

Taranza was shocked at the sheer audacity and looked with a change of heart.

Perhaps this child has more grace than I thought...

"Now! Finish with Ancient Power!"

The Jubilee Pokemon gracefully lifted rocks from the ground and hurled them at Taranza's Pokemon, dwindling the opposing Pokemon's health to zero. The Elite Four Member looked on with shock.

Though disappointed at his loss. For the first time, he felt humbled.

"That final round truthfully made me look like a joke...So in the end, I was the one who was taught a lesson. Well played, Kirby" Taranza gently smiled rather than showing his usual snobbish glare.

Kirby and the Elite Four Member met halfway and shook hands.

"This might be a stretch of a statement, but you just might be able to become Champion at this rate! Though, don't get too over-confident!"

"Right! I'll promise you that I won't!"

Taranza handed the victorious pink trainer a small, blue key, in the shape of an X.

"Take this with you, and face the future with grace and acceptnce!"

Kirby confidently walked toward the elevator and made his way down to the ground floor. He looked at the blazing sunshine across the plain marble doors and wondered where to go next.

"... The second door seems like a good choice..."
