Chapter 12: Apology for Mistake
She quickly ran back and sat down as she heard the door close.
Soon, Grandma Song pushed the door open and sat next to her without beating around the bush, "Thinking of buying a computer?"
Song Yimo answered softly, "Yes."
"Why didn't you just tell Grandma directly? Afraid Grandma wouldn't agree?"
Song Yimo shook her head, "I don't want Grandma to worry. Grandma knows Dad Miao's character the best, so if he agreed, it's not a bad thing. You should be reassured."
Grandma Song sighed. The more a child thinks, the more it reflects the parents' negligence. At this age, children should be carefree, “You are still so young. You don't need to overthink things. Whatever you want, just tell Grandma, and Grandma will give you everything you need, okay?"
"I know, Grandma."
Grandma Song sighed again and patted her granddaughter's hand before standing up to leave, "Get the money ready for Grandma tomorrow. Check when Miao Jun is free and have him accompany you. Don't let anyone bully you."
"I understand." Watching her grandma leave, Song Yimo leaned back on the bed and stayed still for a while without moving. She felt useless for still needing Grandma's money at her age.
Miao Jun took care of everything regarding buying the computer, setting it up, and connecting to the internet. Song Yimo only went along with him once to decide on which computer to buy.
After everything was set up and she managed to connect to the web page, Song Yimo called the number from before.
"Yi Mo?"
"It's me, Mr. Zhai."
Zhai Muyang pressed the receiver to his ear, "What's wrong? You sound low."
After a moment of silence, Song Yimo spoke, "I made a mistake before. I shouldn't have made such unreasonable demands at the time from Mr. Zhai. But I do need the money, so consider it as borrowing from you. I will pay you back as soon as possible."
"Got scolded?" Zhai Muyang chuckled, "It's okay, do what you think is best."
"Okay." Song Yimo felt a little better, "I apologize to you, but please don't doubt my character because of this. I'm not someone who takes advantage of others usually. It's just that I had money on my mind at that time, so I made the wrong decision."
Zhai Muyang softened at her honesty, "I accept your apology. Let's put this matter behind us. Don't worry about it anymore, okay?"
"Okay." Song Yimo obediently accepted. She was about to hang up the phone when she heard his voice again, "Are you tired of studying?"
"No, I can remember things quickly."
"Is this another call a day, saving one yuan for me?"
Song Yimo touched her ear, "No, I bought a computer with the money, and Grandma asked me to use the leftover change."
Honestly, Zhai Muyang laughed, "Do you always speak the truth to everyone?"
"Is there a need to lie?"
No, but not everyone can do such simple things. People are accustomed to living in the lies that come easily from their mouths, building high walls in their hearts to keep others out and themselves in.
"Mr. Zhai, I have to do my homework now. Goodbye, and thank you."
"Wait."
"What else, Mr. Zhai?"
Zhai Muyang's fingers slid on the phone, "You can call this number anytime you need anything. No matter when."
"...Okay."
Hanging up the phone, Zhai Muyang knew that no matter how well he treated the other party, unless they were desperate, they would never call him for help.
He flipped through the documents he had seen countless times and then stood up to shred them in the paper shredder.

With a new computer at home, Song Yimo's life hadn't changed much. She still diligently attended school every day, but now her homework speed had increased, and her bedtime had been extended by half an hour. She spent a fixed amount of time each day on the computer.
Grandma Song sneaked a few glances and felt reassured. She was worried that her granddaughter would lose focus and fall behind in her studies.
In fact, Grandma Song wasn't worrying for no reason.
To make time, Song Yimo not only utilized her free time but also used her self-study classes to plan the storyline and outline the plot. After a week, she had finalized the framework and outline of the story she was going to write, and then began to compress her time, extending her computer usage time by another half hour. By adjusting here and there, she spent about two hours a day on this project.
She could type quickly, and even though the keyboard was far from the mechanical one she had used before, she could write four thousand words in two hours, and sometimes up to five thousand.
After accumulating thirty thousand words, she registered an ID on a website and uploaded the first two chapters. She was writing a fantasy story with a clear structure and a powerful opening. Within three days, people started leaving comments urging her to update and the number of clicks steadily increased. This made her breathe a sigh of relief. She had chosen the right genre.
"Chen Xin, come and look at this book."
Early in the morning, Chen Xin was called over by his immediate boss before he even sat down, "Is this book better than the one from yesterday?"
"There's no comparison. If handled well, this book could be a hit, maybe even a huge hit."
Having worked together for a year, Chen Xin knew how good the chief editor, Zhang Chuliang's, eye for talent was. When he heard Zhang's evaluation, he quickly noted down the book title and opened his own computer.
