Chapter 63: Riding a Bicycle for Travel

Zhai Muyang hurriedly supported the old lady's arm, "Grandma, even if I have to go hungry, I can't let you go out to buy groceries in this weather. It's raining. Oh right, Yimo, I forgot my umbrella at the door."

Song Yimo hurried to get the umbrella, which was wet. She took it to the bathroom to open and dry it, then went to the kitchen.

When the weather turned cold, few people would go out to buy groceries. There were some vegetables at home, but not many good ones.

Zhai Muyang followed her into the kitchen, leaning against the door and said, "Don't worry about it, I'm not just here for one meal. Let's eat what we have for now, and when the weather gets better, we can go out and buy more."

Song Yimo turned to face him, "That's what you said, so don't blame me for not treating you well as a guest."

Zhai Muyang raised an eyebrow, "Treating me as a guest?"

"If I stay away for a long time, even Grandma would treat me as a guest." Song Yimo smiled, "I won't treat you as a guest anymore in the future."

He ruffled her hair and the two sat on either side of Grandma, chatting happily as a family.

Song Yimo pulled her brother's neck and asked, "Dage, how many days off do you have?"

"The busiest time has passed, as long as I don't suddenly get a big project, I can arrange my time." Zhai Muyang rested his chin on his hand and looked at her, "Maybe your vacation will be over before I'm done."

"That's perfect, Grandma will have someone to accompany her."

Grandma Song chuckled, "I don't need someone to accompany me every day. The weather forecast says the weather will improve the day after tomorrow. Yimo, take Muyang out for a walk. Although Xinghu County is a small place, it's no worse than the tourist attractions on TV."

"Got it, Grandma." Grandma was right, several years later Xinghu County really became an eco-tourism destination. However, it was a county town, and the house prices were not lower than those in second or third-tier cities.

She needed to save some money quickly, buy a few more shopfronts, and then she wouldn't have to worry about food and drink in the future.

This time the weather forecast was very accurate, and the next day the weather was really fine. The sky, washed by the rain, was a beautiful deep blue.

Early in the morning, the two siblings were sent out by Grandma. Song Yimo had already decided on the destination last night, so she brought out a nearly new bicycle from downstairs.

Zhai Muyang naturally took it from her hands, "Do you usually ride this to school?"

"No, I borrowed it over the phone last night. I usually take Miaomiao's car to school. Can you ride, Dage?"

Zhai Muyang casually mounted the bike, "No big deal, hop on, let me take you for a ride."

Song Yimo suppressed a smile, sitting behind him and grabbing his jacket.

Although the weather was nice, the sun was shining, sitting on the bike and feeling the cold wind still made her feel chilly.

She adjusted her jacket and directed her brother.

"Are we going out of town?"

"There's nothing interesting in the county town, it's either streets or storefronts. The outskirts haven't been developed yet, that's where you can see the beauty of our Xinghu County."

Zhai Muyang, who had seen many famous mountains and rivers both domestically and internationally, pedaled leisurely and smiled, "If Yimo says it's beautiful, it must be the best."

"Of course, Dage, do you believe that Xinghu County will definitely become a tourist area in the future? Investing now will definitely not be wrong."

Zhai Muyang looked back at her, "You're so confident?"

"Probably because my hometown is always the best in my heart, I just think Xinghu County is very beautiful." Song Yimo hid her heartfelt words in pleasant words. She didn't know if her brother could hear it, but she truly hoped that he could see the beauty of Xinghu County and not miss this business opportunity.

She had to constantly remind herself that she was only sixteen years old and couldn't do anything else that would arouse suspicion from her brother.

Zhai Muyang just smiled, giving no indication if he had really taken her words to heart. "Xinghu County, Happy County, I wonder who came up with the name, the meaning is really good."

Just as he was speaking, Zhai Muyang suddenly braked hard, his feet touching the ground as he leaned forward to barely stabilize the bike.

Sitting on the back seat, Song Yimo instinctively hugged her brother's waist, her face pressed tightly against his waist due to inertia.

At that moment, when Zhai Muyang managed to stabilize, he quickly reached out a hand to protect the person on his left, turning around nervously to ask, "Are you hurt? Where did you hit?"

Song Yimo rubbed her chin, "I'm fine, what happened in front?"

Zhai Muyang stabilized the bike by stepping aside, one hand protecting her and the other steering the bike, explaining to her, "A motorcycle suddenly rushed out, let me see, does it hurt?"

"A little." Because she also hit her nose at the same time, Song Yimo's eyes were slightly moist, but her nose wasn't as red as her chin, so she didn't mention it.

Zhai Muyang gently rubbed her chin, not wanting to exert too much pressure, looking at the various vehicles passing by on the road with a worried expression.

"Dage, you'll have to get used to it. This isn't like the big cities where traffic rules are strictly followed. Look, most of the motorcycles here don't even have license plates. They don't take traffic rules seriously at all. Getting angry with them will only make you upset."

"Do you encounter such incidents when you go to school normally?"

"Locals are aware of the situation and pay attention. They'll slow down when passing alleyways."

Zhai Muyang frowned, "This is too dangerous."

Song Yimo smiled, "There's no place in the world that's absolutely safe. If you're afraid the house will collapse while staying at home, then you won't be able to live if you're constantly worried. Brother, don't let this ruin your impression of Xinghu County. When everyone gets used to the rules, such incidents will naturally disappear."

"Where was your mind wandering off to." Zhai Muyang ran his hand through her hair, helped her sit at the back, and continued cycling.

With Song Yimo's guidance, the siblings found themselves in a place where there were fewer people and the road was a bit challenging.

But after enduring a bumpy stretch, the sudden open view in front of them surprised Zhai Muyang.

He had always thought that Yimo simply felt that this place was great because of her attachment to her hometown, but now that he saw it for himself, he realized Yimo wasn't exaggerating in the slightest.

A crystal clear stream with a faint mist floating above it. An old wooden bridge over the stream, aged with time but adding to the beauty of the scene with the flowing water below.

Further up the stream were terraced fields planted with tea trees, surrounded by drifting white mist.

The mist after the rain carried a dampness, as beautiful as a dream.

Further up, a waterfall could be seen in the distance. Xinghu County never lacked water, especially after the rain, the water was flowing rapidly.

The natural beauty was mesmerizing, not thrilling but captivating.

"Yimo, how many places like this does Xinghu County have?"

Knowing that her brother was impressed, Song Yimo smiled proudly, "Many, this whole area is like this, this is just one spot, other places are just as beautiful."

"And terraced fields are everywhere?"

"Yes, but only this place is a gift from nature, the others are man-made."
