Chapter 35: Catching Adultery
Song Zhi narrowed his eyes as he looked at his long-lost niece, the little girl who used to look at him with disgust and resentment now had a calm and carefree expression.
How could someone grow up so fast?
Did she take the legendary elixir and undergo a transformation?
Song Zhi chuckled at his own imagination, "Is Yimo threatening me?"
"Yes," Song Yimo nodded, "Of course, if Uncle doesn't care about that job, I wouldn't be able to threaten you. I wonder if Auntie is as carefree as Uncle. The education system should value personal integrity."
Song Zhi couldn't laugh at this anymore, there was a hint of fierceness in his eyes.
Song Yimo just smiled and faced Song Zhi without flinching, could he be so vicious as to kill her?
Song Zhi didn't have the courage.
"The hospital prohibits loud noises, please leave if you are not involved." Ni Zhe's voice came from the door, and Shao Zhen peeked out from behind, not being very friendly to Song Zhi. Obviously, she had heard what was said earlier.
Song Zhi had a good appearance and always liked to smile, so he naturally smiled, "I'm here to see my mother, not as an irrelevant person."
Ni Zhe walked in, his attitude seemingly no different from usual, "Family of Zhang Chunxiang?"
"Yes, her legitimate family."
"I am Zhang Chunxiang's attending physician." Ni Zhe pushed his glasses and looked at the man, "I just wanted to ask you about Zhang Chunxiang's stomach problems. How long has she been suffering from them? Do they occur frequently? Has she vomited blood? Are there any other symptoms?"
Song Zhi couldn't answer any of those questions.
Ni Zhe just kept staring at him, waiting for him to speak. Even a person with a little common sense knows that without understanding these questions, how could one possibly undergo surgery?
But Song Zhi didn't know.
Song Zhi was shameless in front of his own people, but he wasn't the kind of person who could ignore all gazes. Under Ni Zhe's intimidating gaze, he turned and walked away quickly, speaking as he left, "Song Yimo, take care of your grandmother."
Song Yimo acted as if she hadn't heard him at all, "Thank you, Director Ni, and thank you, Dr. Shao."
Dr. Shao playfully clenched her fist, "To right the wrong, no need for thanks."
Ni Zhe glanced at his assistant, then checked the old woman's pulse before leaving.
Song Yimo turned around, leaning her face against her grandmother's face, "Grandma, don't worry, whether you are saddened because someone doesn't care about you or not, in the end, the one who will feel the heartache the most is me."
Earphones make the sound softer, but they don't disappear completely. Song Grandma patted her granddaughter's face, didn't say a word, just sighed softly.
Seeing her grandmother's calm expression, without tears in her eyes, Song Yimo breathed a sigh of relief and stopped saying anything more, just gently held her hand and quietly kept her company.
Just the thought that Miao Mother said Song Yi might come back made it impossible for her to completely relax. She wasn't afraid of giving anything, but she was afraid that her grandmother would have to endure a double blow from her children before she recovered from surgery.
Even good people can get sick from anger, let alone someone who was already sick.
He Yi probably realized this, said goodbye to Yimo, walked to the end of the corridor by the window, took out her phone and dialed a number.
An automated female voice said the number was turned off. He Yi leaned against the wall, feeling very uncomfortable. How much sin had Aunt Song committed?
Her son was like that, and her daughter wasn't any better.
But fortunately, there was the good and capable Yimo.
"Have you been able to contact her?"
"It's off. I'll try again later. Why not stay with your grandma?
Song Yimo stood by the window and watched the comings and goings downstairs, "Grandma said she wants to rest, and she can't even sigh properly when I'm there."
He Yi couldn't help but smile, thinking of Song Yimo's performance earlier, she smiled even more, "I didn't expect our Yimo to be so strong. I saw Song Zhi being left with a blue face."
"I couldn't control myself. Grandma gave birth to him, raised him, and even scrimped and saved to send him to college. How can he be so ungrateful? Every word he said struck at Grandma's heart. I even wanted to spit on him."
He Yi laughed, "Don't let him lower your standards because of him. Our Yimo will definitely be a capable person in the future. Song Zhi's lack of shame will surely come to you for help when the time comes. You can give him a good slap in the face for Auntie's sake."
"I will." Song Yimo nodded affirmatively, her determination made He Yi realize that her jokes actually hit a nerve with Yimo.
He Yi wanted to laugh but felt it wasn't appropriate. After thinking it over, she hugged her shoulder and said, "Let's go our own way, Yimo, and don't pay attention to those irrelevant people. It's lunchtime, let's see what's on the menu in the cafeteria."
The hospital food was quite good, but because it was a hospital, the portions were not that great, suitable for patients to eat, but not so much for family members.
Fortunately, Song Yimo wasn't picky, and He Yi ate everything as well, so they ordered two meals, a porridge, and a soup, and headed back.
While waiting for the elevator, Song Yimo casually scanned the people around her, unconsciously looking at a familiar face and immediately turning back.
"Yimo, let's go, the elevator is here."
Standing by the door, Song Yimo looked at the woman the man was holding and scanned them a few times, around thirty years old, not particularly pretty, but with a delicate figure. Some men did indeed like this type.
The two of them got off on the third floor, the Obstetrics and Gynecology department.
Back in the ward, Song Yimo quietly said to He Yi, "Miao Mama, can I borrow your phone for a moment? You go eat first."
He Yi thought she wanted to make a call, so she didn't hesitate to take it out of her bag and hand it to her, "Go ahead, I will watch."
The elevator was rare to wait, so Song Yimo took the stairs, looking in her phone for the camera, holding it tightly in her hand.
She didn't know if this was the right thing to do, but she felt she owed it to this chance encounter, and when she saw the two embracing as they waited for the elevator in the hallway, she felt even more so.
Nonchalantly, she walked over and sat down opposite them, making sure the flash on her phone was off before taking a photo of them. The position was good, and even though her phone had average pixels, from this angle and distance, both their faces were clearly captured.
With these photos, Teacher Chen would be invincible, and her son wouldn't believe his father's words about Teacher Chen causing the family to fall apart. It wasn't until Teacher Chen fell seriously ill that mother and son reconciled.
How could such a good person be treated like this.
