Sarah arrived at her unit with Angelo furiously angry with her for letting Gerald
stay. They went into her office located near the entertainment room.
"How else do you expect me to not worry?"
"I couldn't let him stay at a cheap hotel! Besides, he's your associate
remember?"
"That is not the point!"
"Then what is the point, Angelo?!" Sarah almost shouted. "I think the issue
here is that you don't trust me enough to have him in the same house!"
"Darling, please be reasonable... what will people say? I'm your fiancée and
you have your daughter's biological father in the house for a week!"
"I don't care what other people say! The point is that you don't trust me!"
"I don't want to reason with you right now. Both of us are still angry so I
suggest we do this tomorrow."
"You're right. You better leave. We'll settle this tomorrow." Sarah finally said.
With that, Angelo walked out the door without even saying goodbye. Sarah
hoped that they would work everything out tomorrow. Sarah picked up her
things and went for her bedroom when a figure blocked her path. Gerald was
holding a sleeping Ria in his arms.
"I couldn't help but overhear your conversation with Rozzini..."
"I'm sorry." Sarah simply said.
"Don't worry...I'll get myself a hotel by tomorrow."
"No, really it's ok. You can stay. I'll take care of Angelo."
"I might be able to call in a few favors. I don't want to bother you."
"Look, Gerald. You are welcome to stay here but if you feel that you have to
go somewhere else..." Sarah was cut short when Ria moved in her father's
arms.
"I think I better put her to bed. Wouldn't want her to wake up with all the
trouble I went through to get her to sleep." Sarah nodded and followed him.
"Gerald?" she said. Gerald silently turned to face her. "Thanks for taking care
of Ria today. I hope she wasn't any trouble."
"Don't be silly. She's my daughter and I'm thankful for the opportunity. It really
is no problem at all."
Sarah gave a little smile as Gerald went to Ria's room to set her down. He
placed Ria in her bed and tucked her in with a snug think blanket. After
making sure that she was sleeping soundly, he left the room to look for Sarah.
He caught sight of the time on the clock, it was ten in the evening. He found
Sarah in the kitchen and approached her, pulling up a stool for himself.
Sarah was busy brewing herself a cup of coffee. She caught sight of Gerald
and faced him as he came nearer. Gerald had brought the stool to rest beside
her.
"You look tired. So is it just Rozzini or did you have a hard day in general?"
