Gerald arranged his white long sleeves shirt and prepared for his
performance on stage. The auditorium was filled with people. Sarah
and Ria were among them. He especially designated a table for them
where he could see them immediately. Earlier Sarah and Ria were in
his dressing room, kissing him good luck oblivious to the staff and
musicians. Ria mostly sat on his lap and played with his collar. Sarah
had previously arranged his suit in her place before his concert. She
had specially packed a sandwich for which Gerald could munch
whenever he's hungry.
For a month now, Gerald has unofficially called Sarah's apartment his home.
Indeed he bought the country house that both of them like but still hadn't
decided on the apartment yet. Gerald waited on the sides before finally
the announcer shouted his introduction and Gerald appeared on stage. The
crowd roared wildly as he did a blast on his first song. The audience cheered
and danced with the tune. He sang another 3 hit pop songs and finally took a
stool that was prepared on the stage. Gerald sat on it and introduced the song
"When a Man loves a Woman."
In a second, he searched her eyes and dedicated it to Sarah. The crown was
confused with the unfamiliar name until the spotlight shifted to Sarah direction.
Ria was sitting on Sarah's lap when the light beam shone on her face. Ria
quickly flashed a smile and the crowd laughed. A star in the making.
Then without hesitation, Gerald stood up, carried his microphone and slowly
approached Sarah and Ria. He took Ria in his arms and hugged her then
acknowledged her proudly.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the love of my life, Ria Salinger. Say something
honey..." he brought the mic to Ria.
"I love you Daddy." Ria said with her cute voice. Gerald kissed her on her
cheeks and hugged her. The crowd adored the moment and had a standing
ovation. Sarah smiled and was almost to tears. Gerald placed Ria down and
turned her attention to Sarah who was misty-eyed. He took her right hand, knelt
on his knees and unblinkly proposed.
"Marry me, Sarah. I cannot live without you." He said loudly that
everybody cheered.
Sarah stared at him in shock, not knowing what to say. She was crying now
and could not do anything but hugged him. The crowd saw that and accepted it
as a "yes". The crowd went wild. Sarah leaned on Gerald's ears and
whispered. "I'm not marrying your or anybody Gerald, I'm sorry." With that
Sarah slowly stood up, took Ria's hand and calmly fled the auditorium.
