To Gerald’s horror, the event that happened that night before turned into
media's attention and came to shock to both him and Sarah. Early in the
morning, his agent called him about the news that spread about Ria. She was
tagged as the child adopted by Kimera and Gerald right after the show. And
Sarah as the one who stole Gerald. The press branded Sarah as the only
woman Gerald proposed to in public but also sympathized with Kimera.
True enough, Kimera didn't comment when asked any of the issues. But she
did say that she hoped Gerald was happy even if she was a bit sarcastic about
it.
Sarah was sitting on the bed with one of Gerald's t-shirts on as she watched
the news. The celebrity newscaster was going on with all half-truths about
them. Gerald who earlier talked with his agent set a tabloid magazine down on
the table. Sarah went to look at it and gaped in shock when she saw Ria's face
on the front cover. Sarah called up all the nannies and told them to keep Ria
inside as well as to look out for paparazzi. Who knows what could happen.
Gerald sat beside her and held her shoulders. "I'm so sorry this had to happen."
he apologized.
"God, how can these people be so...so stupid? Ria will be affected for the rest
of her life. “Sarah said in dismay.
''I asked my agent to arrange an exclusive tell-all interview so we can clear
things up. I'll tell her that Ria is really our child. Is that okay with you?"
"Do what you have to do. Just set things straight. But...what are we going to do
about Ria's illegitimacy?"
"We could get married?"
"What? No that is out of the question."
"How about announcing an engagement?"
"That could work."
"Sarah, one thing you can do is show that I am her father. Can you do that?"
"You're her biological father in the birth certificate. It should work."
"Good." Gerald kissed her and went to the bathroom to get ready. Meanwhile
Sarah was startled when Ria bolted right into the room.
"Mommy!" she cried running straight into her Mother's arms. She told Sarah
about the nannies not letting her go out. Gerald was in time when Ria began
crying and slowly sat down beside Sarah. Ria reached for him as she kept on
crying. Gerald did as best he could to explain to her why she wasn't allowed
outside. Her parents promised her a few things to get her to calm down. The
agreement was that she would follow what her nannies said. Gerald went to the
kitchen to have breakfast with Ria. Sarah on the other hand went to talk to the
nannies and told them not to pressure Ria too hard. Afterwards, she took a
shower.
Right after breakfast, Gerald received a call from his agent. Oprah was thrilled
to have an interview and he was scheduled for one of her segments for the
week. Later, Gerald received a call from Kimera that went to voicemail. She
said she was sorry and wanted to talk to him. Gerald ignored her for the time
being.
Gerald told Sarah the news about the interview and about the call from Kimera.
Sarah wasn't easily convinced.
"Are you going to call her back?"
"No why would I?"
"She was supposed to be your fiancé right? Do you still have feelings for her?"
"No way. She's a bit crazy and I've been trying to break it off with her."
"If you say so..."
"Wait are you jealous?"
"Me? Why would I be? I'm just concerned is all."
With that, Sarah walked off. Gerald saw her blush a bit back there. He was sure
she was jealous even if for a little bit.
Sarah packed her suitcase and Gerald wore his best clothes. He escorted her
in his Porsche and drove her to her office. Gerald went back to the condo after
dropping off Sarah and made a few calls to check up on his company. A little
while later his agent came by to brief him for the tell-all interview. Throughout
the day he spent most playing with Ria. They both experimented with new
flavors of shake not aware to the crowd gathering around Sarah's building.
Sarah had gotten so tired, she left the office earlier than usual. There was a
problem with one of their branches in New York.
As the car drew near to her place, Sarah noticed people gathering around her
building. At the same time, her cellphone rang. It was Gerald. He informed her
that someone must have tipped the paparazzi of her address. As one of the
chauffeurs assisted Sarah with her car, the building's security guards came to
assist her. They escorted her through the building as they fought off the
paparazzi who tried to get near. Question were being asked as microphones
and cameras were shoved in her face. Sarah tripped as she entered the lobby.
Gerald had just come down in time to see her and helped her up. One reporter
took that as his chance and asked Gerald a question.
"Was Sarah the reason for your break up with Kimera?"
Gerald stared at him and answered, "I'll be answering all of those questions
tomorrow."
"Everything?" another shouted.
Gerald just smiled as he attended to Sarah. He assisted her inside and
embraced her in a comforting gesture. Tomorrow he would tell all, Kimera be
damned.
