Sarah arrived in France late at night. Her grandfather's driver was waiting for
her. She only came to France to meet up with her grandfather and after that
they were leaving for New York by the next evening. It was 1:00am when they
finally reached the mansion. Despite the late hour, her grandfather was
waiting for her in the receiving room. Sarah hugged him tight and they sat on
the couch.
"You seem sad." Her grandfather stated.
"I'm just tired Papa. All this travelling and work has been a bit hard on me."
"That's putting it mildly given your appearance. Well not to worry. I've already
arranged the lodgings in New York so you don't have to push yourself. I'll be
visiting France once in a while. I also had your horses moved to a ranch in
Texas, another state I know but at least they're closer than France."
"Are you all packed up for tomorrow's flight?"
"I've taken care of that too. Just make sure you wear something elegant
tomorrow. Your godfather Quincy invited us over for a party. He hasn't seen
you in a while and he misses you."
"I'll be ready."
"Right. You should get some rest Sarah, you'll feel refreshed by tomorrow I
hope?"
"Don't worry Papa I'll be fine." Sarah kissed her grandfather on the cheek.
"Goodnight princess." Her grandfather gave her a kiss on the forehead. He
accompanied her until she was settled in her room.
Sarah was awake most of the night. Memories still lingered on her mind. Most
of them were of Gerald and her thoughts of him. She didn't want to dwell on it
any longer and decided to make herself as busy as she could. Next week, she
would go straight to work and fill the rest of the days with business deals. With
that thought, she fell asleep.
"C'mon pick up please?"
Gerald was trying to call Sarah since she should have just arrived in France.
