Gerald visited Ria as much as he could for the past few days. He also
made sure that Sarah wasn’t around. They say that distance makes the
heart grow fonder and Gerald needed Sarah to miss him. That was his
plan at least. He still can still feel how passionate Sarah was during
their lovemaking. Gerald still believes that this was because of their
connection. It didn’t matter that their affair in the Philippines lasted a
few weeks. Sarah had shown him who she really was and he knew her
better than she knew herself.
During those past few days, Gerald felt that it was time he dangled
bait in front of Sarah. He called her office and told Sarah’s secretary
that he was taking Ria to the zoo along with her nannies.
Ria was jumping about excitedly while touring the zoo with her Dad.
This was her first time at the zoo. The nannies on the other hand were
a bit afraid of the more violent animals. Especially the lions. Gerald
watched his adorable daughter in amusement as she gave her nannies
a hard time. Ria really just was so cute. They took a rest for a bit and
Gerald help Ria hold her ice cream cone in chubby little hands. It was a
sunny day with warm weather. Gerald thought about taking Ria out to
the park as well but the paparazzi had been following him. Even now
he could see the occasional flash going off and did his best to keep Ria
out of sight. He decided the best way to ease his frustrations was to
get Ria her choice of toys at the zoo’s shop. When they arrived, Ria
then declared that she wanted her own zoo. She chose two of each
stuffed toy of every animal available. When she was done they had
three shopping carts full of toys and a few jungle mats and posters.
Sarah would have a fit if she saw all this. But Gerald figured that she
wouldn’t stay mad for long and they could always turn one of the
vacant rooms into Ria’s zoo.
As the sun started to set, Gerald decided that they should go. He held
a sleeping Ria in his arms as the chauffer and nannies loaded the limo
with toys. Looking at the sleeping Ria made Gerald long for Sarah. If
they manage to settle things they could come back here. But this time,
as a family.
It took at least an hour to get to the condo due to a sudden rush of
traffic. Gerald idly wondered if he should have gotten a helicopter,
except there was nowhere to land it. Still cradling the sleeping Ria,
Gerald went down the hall while the nannies put the stuffed toys away
in a vacant room.
