Gerald Salinger wrapped himself in a white cotton bathrobe after a long ho
shower. He and his crew arrived late last night and he was really tired. The
people in charge of their concert were already waiting for him at the hotel
lobby and if he showed up another hour late, there might be a chance that
they would wring his neck.
Gerald checked his cellphone for missed calls and such. To his chagrin, his
cellphone was flooded with messages and missed calls from Kimera. He
didn't bother to check them. Instead, he cleaned out his incoming call list and
messages of anything related to her. Checking his phone again, he noticed
another set of messages from Mr. Mitchell (or to most 'Mr. M'), Kimera's
manager. He sighed and deleted them too. Since the beginning, Gerald has
made it clear that theirs is a non-exclusive, no strings attached arrangement.
Recently though Kimera has been trying to push for a more serious
relationship. This has resulted into Kimera having to show up in his house
frequently unannounced which had bothered and irritated him immensely.
Gerald was starting to wonder if he should get rid of her.
Keeping his schedule in mind, Gerald hurriedly dressed up in jeans and
white shirt, grabbed a piece of bagel from his breakfast table and ate it
while he proceeded to meet the press.
He took his black Gucci leather jacket and wore dark Ray-Bans. After he
met briefly with his Manila crew, he was escorted by his security detail to
the function room and was loudly greeted by the big crowd. There were
at least a hundred press people in attendance.They were polite and
asked questions one at a time. Gerald pleasantly answered each of their
questions and charmed most of them. The press conference finished at
around 1:00 in the afternoon. He and his crew directly went to the hotel's
resto bar. A mid-50's looking woman was introduced to them.
"Hello, Mr. Salinger, I'm Mrs. Nikki de Villa. Nice to finally see you. My
daughter who is your sponsor cannot make so I'll be in charge for now. I
have met with your manager, Mr. Jason Stuart to coordinate your schedules
and transportation. So far we did not foresee any problem."
"Good to meet you too Mrs. De Villa" Gerald said and shook her hands,
then taking his seat while food started to arrive and were being served
