At the end of their trip to Japan, Hanni and Minji planned to go skydiving in Australia. When Hanni heard about it, she asked Minji in surprise, "Why do we have to go skydiving in Australia?"
Minji replied without hesitation, "If a honeymoon trip is only to one place, how can I show my local tyrant charm?"
"You don't seem like a simple and strong national soldier," Hanni teased, glancing at her wife.
"Don't forget, your wife comes from a wealthy family."
"Doesn't show." Despite saying this, Hanni began packing her suitcase early the next morning. She was halfway through when her phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was her friend, Daniella, she smiled and answered the video call.
"Dani, are you home?"
On the other end, a stylish girl with short hair appeared, cheerfully saying, "Babe, did you miss me?"
"Of course," Hanni replied with a grin.
"Liar! You go on trips without me, and there's nothing on your social feed. Are you hiding something?" Daniella questioned skeptically.
"I'm still at the hotel. Let me show you." Hanni panned her phone around the room, stopping at the floor-to-ceiling window with an ocean view. "See? I'm not lying to you."
"Wow, high-end room! Didn't you say you were spending a fortune taking care of Hyein? So why the splurge now?" Daniella asked, then teased, "Don't tell me you're in love again."
"Come back, and I'll tell you." Since the wedding happened suddenly, Hanni didn't want to tell anyone just yet. Plus, Daniella was away on a business trip, so she hadn't mentioned it.
"If you tell me when you're back, I have to ask, is there someone special around you?" Daniella asked, narrowing her eyes.
Just then, Minji finished packing. After arranging for the airport shuttle, she opened the door. "Are you done packing? We have to leave soon."
"Almost," Hanni answered.
"Whose voice was that?" Daniella asked sharply, catching Minji's attention.
"Come back, and I'll tell you," Hanni said, ignoring Minji's impatient look as she ended the call and grabbed her bag to follow her wife downstairs for checkout.
After Hanni hung up, Daniella huffed, "How dare she hang up on me! I'll make her pay for that!"
"Who dares to cut off our lovely lady's call?" Jay, the general manager, asked with a smile as he entered.
"Boss?" Daniella glanced at her boss. "Oh, it's just Phampham. She forgot about her friend as soon as someone else came along."
"Hanni?" Jay asked in surprise. "Isn't she on vacation?"
"Yeah. I just called her, heard someone in the background, asked who it was, and she hung up on me. She's definitely in love," Daniella guessed.
"Hanni? In love?" Jay exclaimed.
"Why so jumpy?" Daniella asked, surprised by Jay's reaction. "Don't tell me you're secretly crushing on Phampham."
"Ridiculous," Jay replied quickly, almost defensively.
"If you've crushed on Phampham for years, she'd never notice," Daniella teased. "But you do care about her."
"Don't I also care about you?" Jay replied.
"You're supposed to care about me," Daniella muttered under her breath, a little flustered.
Jay changed the topic. "So you think Hanni's in love? She hasn't been herself these last few months with her sister's issues. But her cousin's bone marrow was a match, Hyein recovered, and now she's finally on vacation. I've never seen her act like someone in love before."
