Sitting on the train was awkward. Todoroki hadn't said anything since they got on, and Izuku decided to ignore him, instead focusing on his phone- more especially the group chat that contained the problem kids of the city, Emiko, Kakashi, Charlie and himself.
Charlie had been searching for the League of Villains since they attacked, but so far, she had no luck. No one knew anything about the League, meaning one of a couple things either; the League was small enough that none of Charlie's contacts had heard of them, which was unlikely. More likely, but much more concernedly, the contacts were lying to Charlie. She trusted them, but unless they met in person, she couldn't a hundred per cent confirm they were telling the truth. She was adamant that if they were lying, it would be because they were scared rather than mistrustful.
The rest didn't believe that a group that's scary is one thing. A group scarier than Charlie and her network was an entirely different situation.
'Don't suppose either of your jobs turned up anything,' Izuku asked, receiving a sad emoji from Kakashi.
'I tried to get them to look into the group, but they just kept saying it wasn't in our jurisdiction, so they told me to drop it. I even talked to our teachers, but they went on about proper hero and police procedure,' he explained.
'Same issue here. Even though we are within the right locale, my bosses aren't willing to touch the LOV case with a 10-metre pole. You're more likely to learn anything than I am,' Emiko added as Izuku scoffed.
'If I learn something, then that's because one of them punched me.'
'Info is info,' Charlie joked. 'I'll keep searching, but I've only run into a wall like this once before.'
There was a pause before Kakashi responded. 'Do you think it is him?'
The group chat never said his name or brought him up if it could be avoided.
'Let's hope not," Emiko interrupted before the group could properly think about it.
'We wouldn't know if it was or not until it's too late. That's how he works,' Charlie announced as Izuku hummed.
'Maybe, but even the best trickster leaves traces.'
'Let's not think too hard about it. Besides, you two are meant to be on your internships,' Emiko once again changed the subject. 'Don't spend your entire time thinking about this and actually learn.'
'Eww. Learning,' Charlie typed back as Izuku chuckled. He bid them a quick goodbye before turning to glance out the window. They were close, just entering the city that held Endeavour's agency and the internship they were both going to.
~~~
The Endeavour Agency was a tall and imposing building with sidekicks running about everywhere, holding reports and laptops as they rushed to their floor.
"For a place so surrounded by fire, you would think they would avoid such flammable things," Izuku commented as Todoroki gave him a look. "What? It would be bad press if the Endeavour Agency burned down."
Todoroki didn't have to think about it anymore when his father walked out. Endeavour focused on Todoroki, grinning. "Shoto! You arrived!"
Todoroki didn't respond as Endeavour began talking to him about all the stuff he was going to need to teach Todoroki now he had accepted 'my' aka Endeavour's flames.
"I am also here," Izuku announced, finally getting Endeavour's attention.
"Right. Midoriya, every hero in Japan doesn't seem to like you."
"Yeah, the curse of being Charlie's friend and getting wrapped up in her 'Dad's' attempts to find her. You would think after the 20th time we beat up his goons, he would give up, but no." Izuku grinned fakely as Endeavour scoffed.
