Part 46~Darkness

"We have discovered two of the villains' targets. It is two of the students, Bakugo and Midoriya. Try to avoid combat and act independently. Understand, Bakugo, Midoriya?" Mandalay's voice echoed in the minds of the students as Katsuki let out an annoyed sound.

"Not exactly the best advice right now." He jumped in the air, barely avoiding being stabbed.

Todoroki put up a wall of ice, but the metal stabbed through, almost hitting him. "Don't go rushing carelessly into anything," Shoto scolded as the villain stumbled forward.

They kept themselves in the air, the metal spikes sticking out of their mouth and carrying them around. "I have to follow... I have to do my job..."

"Didn't you hear that? She said you're being targeted," Shoto shouted, jumping to the side and trying to keep the 1B student, Kosei, on his back.

"I don't care. She also said Izuku was being targeted. I am not letting him get taken. I thought you would think the same." Katsuki jumped to the side as a piece of metal made its way through the ice and towards him. "I don't care what anyone says, I'm not letting myself or Izuku get taken again."

Shoto built up the ice, surrounding the metal and trying to slow the villain down, but it did little. The villain pulled the metal out of the ice before shooting it out again. Shoto covered the ground in ice, shivering as he struggled to breathe. "He's good at using the terrain with his Quirk."

"How annoying." Katsuki clicked his tongue. "He looks like he's got a lot of experience."

Katsuki growled as the villain hissed out words. His palms sparked with small explosions as Shoto shot him a look. "If you use any large flame around here and the fire spreads, we'll be surrounded by flames, and everyone will die."

"I know." Katsuki bit his tongue as he tried to find any way out. "Shit."

Izuku flew over the tops of the trees, his eyes searching the trees for any sign of Katsuki. He couldn't find anything. The two couldn't be much further. Izuku stopped his flight, closing his wings and dropping to the ground, barely avoiding the Shadow that tried to whack him out of the sky.

Hitting the ground, Izuku stepped back, jumping out of the way when the Shadow crashed into the ground. He hid behind a tree, muttering curses before he paused, spotting someone hiding nearby. "Shoji," he hissed out, crawling over and turning back to human. "Your injuries?"

One of Shoji's arm tentacle things had been chopped off and was bleeding steadily. "Don't worry about it. Even though it's not a shallow cut, I've not lost it forever. My Dupli-Arms can even duplicate my duplicated organs, and what was cut off was a duplicate. I'm more concerned for you."

"It's not my blood. I'm unharmed." Shoji's eyes widened, though he chose not to comment on that. "What's going on?"

"We were ambushed by villains, and I covered us. But that triggered the Quirk that he'd been desperately trying to hold back."

"That's not good."

"Yeah. If we want to get through here, we'll have to do something about this first."

Izuku turned back to the rampaging monster in front of him. Dark Shadow was completely out of control, ripping apart the trees and roaring loudly. Almost tiny in comparison, Tokoyami tried to limit Dark Shadow, but it did nothing. "Get away from me. You'll die."

Izuku pulled Shoji to the side, a more sturdy hiding spot. "Right. That's not good. I know his Quirk was stronger in the dark, but I never realised how unstable it was. This is making Charlie look like a saint."
