Izuku regretted going to school the second he arrived at the door. The press had swarmed outside the UA grounds, screaming at the children in attempts to find out the smallest details about All Might.

Izuku paused, staring at the crowd and trying to figure out another way through before he finally gave up and started to walk through the mass.

"Tell me, what is it like learning from All Might? Wait, weren't you the one with Present Mic during the Sports Festival last year?" The reporter stared in shock as Izuku snorted.

"All Might is an idiot who insulted Shota." Izuku grinned, shaking his head. "I was at the sports festival last year. I know all the teachers here and used to help them teach academics since I am smarter than probably everyone here."

Izuku smirked, walking through the startled crowd.

"Did you just insult them?" Hitoshi gave Izuku a look.

"I insulted you all." Izuku grinned, pulling Hitoshi along as Shota tried to dismiss the reporters behind them.

"Good work with yesterday's battle training." Shota stood by his podium with a stack of paper in his hands. "I've looked over your grades and evaluations. Bakugo, grow up already. Stop wasting your talent."

Katsuki looked down, muttering a reply as Shota moved on. He scolded Iida for not paying attention before scolding Izuku for not carrying his medicine around.

"Onto homeroom announcements. Today, you'll pick a class president."

The class gasped happily, jumping up as they tried to get picked. Shota and Izuku shared a look, waiting for the class to settle- or for Shota to snap. Whichever came first.

Finally, Iida spoke up. "Everyone! Leading the many tasks of heavy responsibility. But ambition does not equate to ability. This sacred office demands the trust of its constituents. If this is to be a democracy, then I put forward the notion that our true leader must be chosen by election."

Hitoshi raised his eyebrow. "People are selfish. They'll just vote for themselves."

"Maybe not," Izuku interrupted. "If someone can get multiple votes, it'll show they are truly the best." Izuku grinned as Hitoshi sighed.

"Fine, but no complaining when it fails."

The paper was handed out and the results were pulled together. Izuku and Yaoyorozu drew, getting three votes each.

Izuku was more than shocked. "Fuck. You did that on purpose." He gave Hitoshi a look, and Hitoshi chuckled.

"Does Shota and Mic know you've started swearing?"

"Fuck you. I don't want responsibility."

"You made your bed. Lie in it."

"No."

"All right, Izuku and Yaoyorozu will be the class reps side by side," Shota announced, ignoring the horrified look Izuku was giving him.

Sighing, Izuku sat down at the table with Uraraka, Iida and Hitoshi. Iida was looking around at all the students while talking to Hitoshi. Uraraka was more interested in her food.

"You can't keep pouting, Izu," Hitoshi chuckled as Izuku leaned on his hand.

"I can't be a class rep. I have no idea about normal thing or what to do."

Hitoshi rolled his eyes. "You'll be fine. People believed in you and Shota clearly doesn't think it's a horrible idea."

"I think he just wants to give me something to do so I stop making things that blow up."

"Nonsense. You have the grit and decisiveness of a true leader. That's why I voted for you," Iida announced as Izuku gave him a betrayed look.

"Traitor."

"Didn't you want to be president too, Iida," Uraraka questioned, distracting the conversation. "You've got the glasses and everything."

"Again, ambition and suitability are different matters. I humbly made the choice I felt was correct," Iida explained as Izuku rolled his eyes.

"I wouldn't use humbly."

"The way you talk," Uraraka began, piecing things together. "Iida, are you a rich kid?"

"I don't like people to know, so I try to hide it, but yes, mine is a renowned hero family. And I am the second son. Do you know of the turbo hero Ingenium?"

Izuku's head popped up. "The hero agency in Tokyo with 65 sidekicks."

Iida nodded. "He is my brother. He leads the people with unwavering adherence to rules and regulations. A truly beloved hero. It's my admiration for my brother that's inspired my own desire to become a hero. However, I realise I'm not ready to lead anyone. As the superior candidate, it was right that the role should go to you, Midoriya."

Izuku chuckled, leaning against his hand. "I get that. Emi was my inspiration to become a hero so I guess I can relate to wanting to be like an older sibling." Iida smiled before Izuku shot him a look. "I still don't want to lead the class."

The group gave up, returning to their meals when the alarm sounded overhead. "Security level 3 has been broken. All students, please evacuate in an orderly fashion."

Chaos fell around the room as the students panicked. Izuku jumped back, his hands twitching as Hitoshi gave him a concerned look, helping him open the emergency pill bottle. "We need room to calm down, or this will only get worse," Hitoshi told the others, holding my arm.

Iida and Uraraka tried their best to think of a way to calm the students down. That was until Iida looked outside, seeing the press. "Uraraka, make me float."

Uraraka reached out, touching his hand as he floated above the students, grabbing the pipe above the door.

"Everyone, everything is fine. It's just the press. There's nothing to panic about. We're fine. This is UA. Behave in a way befitting this great institution."

~~~
"Alright, before we start, I want to say something," Izuku began, standing with Yaoyorozu in front of the class. "I think that Iida should be president, not me. Everyone saw how he reacted in the crisis, and I think it would be better to have someone who can always be there to perform his duties. Iida can do that, while I can't. With INH I won't be here all the time and I think Iida will be more reliable than I could ever be. So what do you say?"
The class began muttering amongst themselves, slowly growing more and more encouraging as Iida stood up, bowing deeply. "I will accept the job."
The class cheered as Iida became class 1A's president.
"No ordinary reporter could have done this." Nezu stood outside of the school, looking at the destroyed gate "Someone instigated this whole affair, did some evil doer manage to slip in? Or do they intend to wage some greater war? What do you think, Izu?"
Izuku stared at the ground, a deep look of concentration on his face. "There are very few people who have Quirks capable of doing this, though one case springs to mind. Home turned to dust, killing the entire family."
Emiko hummed. "I remember that day. Charlie was questioned about it. Did they ever find out who did it?"
Izuku shook his head. "You should contact Charlie. She might know more."
