"For today's basic hero training, this time, All Might, myself, and one other will supervise you lot," Shota looked at the class with a bored expression.
Izuku smiled, already having an idea of where they were going.
"What're we doing exactly?" Sero looked at Shota in confusion as he sighed.
"Preparing you for disaster relief, from fires to floods. It's rescue training." Shota paused, waiting for the class to calm down before he continued. "Hey, I'm not done. It's up to each of you whether or not you wear your costume, as some of them are ill-suited to this sort of activity. The training site is a bit remote so we'll be going by bus. That's all, get ready."
~~~
Izuku stood outside the bus park, waiting for Shota to return with the required mode of transport. He was almost tempted to correct Iida on the layout of the buses before deciding to let the guy learn the hard way.
"Who are you messaging? It feels weird to see you with a phone," Hitoshi gave Izuku a weird look as Izuku switched his phone off, putting it away.
"I'm trying to get in contact with an old friend about the reporter's incident, but she's not responding. I think she's destroyed her phone again."
"Again?" Uraraka tilted her head as Izuku nodded.
"Last time she flooded it, and the time before that was the incident with the racoon and the time before that she fried it."
"Fried it," Uraraka asked.
"Raccoon," Hitoshi asked.
"She thought it would taste good."
There was a noticeable pause. "The phone or the raccoon?"
Another pause. "Yes."
~~~
Sitting on the bus, Iida mourned his organisation as the rest carried on their conversations like normal.
"I generally say what's on my mind, Midoriya," Tsu began as Izuku blinked in surprise.
"That's good?"
"Well, it's just you said your Quirk lets you transform into specific forms that allow you to control a different element. Isn't it a bit strange how you can't change into something to do with fire?"
Izuku bit his lip, shifting slightly. "Well, actually, I do have one, but I don't use it." He avoided the gaze of everyone who was staring at him. "Since that form is one of the things that can trigger attacks and fire triggers attacks, I don't ever use either of them. Best to stay away from them."
"What's the form?" Bakugo gave Izuku an interested look as he shrugged.
"Dragon."
Bakugo pulled a face. "Why was I surprised by that? That's literally your father's Quirk?"
Izuku smirked. "Exactly."
"Wow, you have such a cool Quirk. It's really powerful. You can do so much with it, not like my hardening. I'm good in a fight, but it's really boring," Kirishima praised as Izuku snorted.
"Your Quirk is amazing. Even the simplest Quirks can be the most powerful."
"Friend of the most powerful quirk users says what," Hitoshi joked as Izuku gave him a look.
"She is not that powerful."
"She made a volcano. But you should trust Izu's instincts. If he says something, he's usually right." Hitoshi gave Kirishima a look, but Kirishima was stuck on the volcano thing.
"But don't forget that heroes also have to worry about popular appeal. My navel laser is both strong and cool. Perfect for a pro," Aoyama claimed, moving the conversation along for all those who recovered.
"As long as you don't blow up your own stomach," Jiro muttered back as Uraraka cleared her throat.
"You wanna talk strong and cool? That'd be Todoroki and Bakugo."
Bakugo blinked in surprise before he smirked. "Hell yeah."
"We're here," Aizawa interrupted, shutting up the class. "Look sharp."
~~~
Walking inside, the class saw the vast space that was inside the training grounds.
"Hey, look, they've rebuilt," Hitoshi commented as Izuku gave him a look.
"We agreed to never talk about that."
He held up his hands, giving Izuku a peaceful look.
"There's the flood zone. Landslide zone. Conflagration zone etc. Every disaster and accident you can imagine. I built this facility myself. I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint," Thirteen announced as she walked out.
"Hello, Thirteen," Izuku greeted as Hitoshi waved at her.
"Morning, boys. Don't suppose you're not going to destroy this place. Again."
"I'm not," Hitoshi answered. "I make no promises about him."
Ignoring all of us, Aizawa pulled Thirteen aside, talking to her, probably about the fact All Might was missing.
"The height of irrationality," Aizawa muttered before turning to us. "So be it. Let's get started."
"Before we do, I have one or two points. Or three," Thirteen began as Izuku and Hitoshi shared a look, both mimicking Thirteen's entire speech. They had only heard it 18 times. "As I'm sure many of you are aware, my Quirk is called Blackhole.
It can suck in and tear apart anything. However, my power could easily kill. I've no doubt there are some among you with similar abilities. In our superpowered society, the use of quirks is heavily restricted and monitored. It may seem that this is a stable one. But we must never forget that it only takes one wrong move with an uncontrollable quirk for people to die.
During Aizawa's physical fitness test, you came to learn of your own hidden potential. Through All Might's battle training, you experienced the danger that your respective quirks can pose to others. This class will show you a new perspective! You will learn how to utilise your quirks to save lives. Your powers are not meant to inflict harm. I hope you leave here today with the understanding that you're meant to help people.
That is all. I thank you for listening." Thirteen bowed deeply after his speech while everyone clapped.
"Great, first off," Aizawa stood up as Izuku shot up.
"Shota, get back." Izuku charged forward, shifting into his sphinx and creating a wall from the ground below him.
Thirteen turned, giving Izuku a look. "Five minutes. I got five minutes before you started destroying stuff."
"Quiet," Hitoshi ordered as Iida began to scream. "What is it, Izuku?"
"Someone's here."
