CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO ; ARE YOU BUSY TODAY?
Sowon fell onto her bed, bored. It was the weekend, which meant no games, no practice, and, worst of all, no hanging out with her friends.
Did you think she'd say something else?
Sohee was out with Yeonjun doing something, probably talking about sports or going to a bar, meaning she didn't have the car. Narae was out with Sunoo on a date of some sort–she said something about doing a pottery class, which was totally out of Narae's forte, so it was the manager's idea. Xinyu was out with a couple of other friends, including Nakyoung, for a girl's getaway to celebrate someone's birthday.
That left Sowon to rot in bed and think about the upcoming week. She had a game on Wednesday, and that was all she looked forward to. It was not like every day was a day worth living, but there was always one person pushing her to wait for another–Jaeyun.
Then, she rose up at his name, crossing her mind. What if she called Jaeyun to hang out?
She reached for her phone on her nightstand and pressed on his contact, thinking about it twice. "The worst thing he could say is he's busy," She replied, staring at his number. "Or, the worst thing he could say is that he'd never like to be seen out in daylight again, but after that party, I don't think he cares."
So, she dialed him and pressed her phone to her ear, letting it sit idle. She heard it ring three times before he picked up, silence ensuing on both ends of the line. "Uh, hello, Sowon?"
"Good morning, Jaeyun," Those words shocked him. She sounded so sweet, but what he didn't know was that she was smirking on the other side of the line, hoping that he'd fall right into her trap. "Are you busy today?"
Jaeyun watched Sohee playing on his computer, his headphones on, and focused on beating the monster. "No, I'm not," Jaeyun responded, causing Sohee to glance over. "Why are you asking?"
Sowon smiled. "You remember the secret I told you? The one that you found out about when you came over?"
"Yeah, I do."
