Girl Meets Plot Twists

Tears rolled down my cheeks. Out of everyone in the world, why did it have to be Joshua Matthews?!

I looked up to him, Auggie looked up to him.

I thought he was different but apparently I was wrong.

I raced downstairs, and out the door. I don't care what Shawn has to say about this, I was going to go down to NYU, and talk to Josh.

I'm tired of running from things, I'm tired of hiding, and letting people push me around.

I reached the entrance of NYU, and I felt my heart sink down to my stomach.

What would I even say to Josh?

What would he do?

My legs trembled furiously, as I took each step into the university. I felt weak, like I could collapse any minute now. I felt nauseous, and dizzy, and with that, I blacked out.

There was a split second where I heard a loud constant beep ringing in my ears. Although my eyes were wide open, I saw nothing but bright lights that slowly faded into pitch black.

I couldn't breathe.

The last thing I remember was Josh screaming my name.

I woke up in a hospital, once again. Josh was sitting in a chair by my bedside, and he held my hand.

"Riley, you're awake" he sighed in relief. I was all muddled up, didn't he want me dead?

"J-Josh" I whimpered, "Wh-why did y-you send th-those texts" I managed to cough up, before feeling weak at my legs again.

"What texts?"

I reached for the table on the other side of the bed, and grabbed my phone.

I scrolled through my 'missed texts' and I found 2 new ones.

I opened them.

'It's your turn'

'Say goodbye to Maya'

And there was an attachment. I clicked on it, ignoring Josh, who was eyeing me in confusion.

It was a picture of Maya's limp body, in a puddle- a huge puddle- of blood.

My heart skipped several beats, as I handed Josh the phone, who seemed to have reacted the same way.

I started to sob.

"We'll get through this, I promise"

He pulled me closer to him, and held me. There's the Josh I know and love.

"Let's go" he grabbed my hand, and helped me up as I got to my feet. I was still feeling unstable, but for Maya, my head could be on the verge of falling off, and I wouldn't care.

Of course, that wasn't the case. Not yet at least.

"I know where her room is, I went and saw her the other day" Josh lead me down the stairs, and through the hallway, where one of the doors lead to my sleeping angel.

The door was already slightly ajar, so he pushed it open, revealing a very, very happy Lucas Huckleberry Friar.

"Lucas!" Josh ran towards him, grabbing him by the collar before slamming him against the wall. He let go of his collar with one hand, and brought his stiff fist up to Lucas' face, knocking him out.

"Wh-why did you..." I stepped into the room, closing the door behind us.

"He deserved that" Josh said flatly, crouching down to pick up an electronic device that was in Lucas' hand.

Josh's phone.

"I didn't send those texts, Riles" he passed me his phone, "Why do you think I would ever hurt you like that?"

"Y-y-you wouldn't" I shivered, putting the phone down beside Maya- who was not laying in a puddle of blood.

She looked the same as she did before. I wish she would wake up, and things would go back to the way they were.

I let a few tears fall out of my swollen eyes.

"Come here" Josh held his hand out to me, and I went over to him, "I know you're mad at Cory and everything, but he only lied to keep you and Maya safe, and now that you two know, do you see what you got yourselves into?"

"Maya hurt herself" I snapped

"Do you believe that?" he raised an eyebrow, picking up his phone and walking out of the room, leaving me alone with my almost-lifeless angel.

I saw a dried up blood stain on her neck. It was a cut, a very deep cut.

"Maya, I- "

My attention was diverted to a note lying beside Lucas, so, because curiosity was part of the human nature, I picked up the note with robotic movements, and it read;

Hey Maya,
If you wake up, which you probably wont. Please read this.

I hope you know how worthless you are

I'M ACTUALLY REALLY HAPPY TO FINISH THIS BC IVE ONLY FINISHED 3 BOOKS IN. MY. LIFE.

I was in the middle of watching a very suspenseful episode of Pretty Little Liars when suddenly, my mac died, so I decided to type this cause I wasn't bothered to charge it

and oh my best friend lol_terbs is on a date right now ;D
