Me and the girls spent the rest of the morning getting ready.

We all sat at the table, looking out to the gorgeous view of the Hamptons.

"So, James, did you have a chance to meet Harold? And uh, what is his boyfriend's name?"Chuck asked, as he poured apple juice into my empty glass.

"Roman?" James replied in his thick English accent.
"I only met his briefly, at the chateau. Although the cat didn't seem to like me as much. I have the scars to prove it."
He finished, receiving  a little chuckle from Serena's grandmother.

"You certainly have crammed an awful lot into such a short time together. I wonder, has Ella had the chance to share her favourite movies with  you yet?" James shook his head to chucks question.
"Tiffany's, Roman holiday.. and of course, charade." He listed all of my favourite movies.

He only remembers because of the amount of times I watched them growing up when I had to stay at the Bass penthouse.

"Oh, I thought your favourite was funny face?" James turned to me,
"It is! I hate charade.  Chuck stop harassing him."
I ordered.

"Well, how well do you know Ella Waldorf is kinda boring for those of us who actually know Ella  Waldorf." Eric pointed out.

"Not to mention, transparent!" Chucks nana added.

"Yes, thank you grandma." Chuck nodded to his grandmothers response.

"I don't mind. I would like to learn as much as I can about Ella, and there's no better way to learn than through a quiz." James admitted his thoughts.

I felt very bad for Blair, and Serena, since all of the spotlight was on me.
They were very quiet, none of them said a word throughout the whole of brunch, only laughing slightly here and then.

"Well it's a shame that you two got here on the bus, and not a limo. I don't know if you know this but Ella loves limos." Chuck smirked, as he knew that I knew exactly what he was referring to.

"Sweetie, can you please pass me the salt and pepper." I politely asked James, avoiding chucks next words.

I want this brunch to be everyone but awkward.

He reached  for the salt and pepper, placing his right arm in front of chucks sight, revealing the pin he had on his sweater.

Chuck shot me a glance, as I refused to look back.
His tone changed, and so did his expression.

"Excuse me, uh, I think I just lost my appetite."
He dismissed himself from the table, and walked through the gardens.

"Will you excuse me?" I looked at James, "I won't be a minute sweetie." I got up from my seat, and followed him.

"Chuck!" I caught up to him.
He walked closer to me, "look, I know what that pin means to you. You gave it to Nate the first time you said you loved him."

"Well, I asked for it back, I thought James should have it now." My eyes started to get watery, and my tone changed slightly.

"Do you, uh, feel the same way as you did with Nate?"

"I do." I answered. The birds were chirping in the trees, and you could hear the piano playing from inside the house, which really set the scene.

I didn't want him to be mad at him, but he does get jealous very easily.
"I'll see you at school." After a few seconds, he decided to walk away.

I wanted to let my emotions out, as I was extremely overwhelmed.

I watched him walk more and more away, and so I decided to wipe my tears, and go back to the brunch like nothing had happened.

"Oh my goodness!" I walked back to my seat as I grabbed the arm of his sweater, "my pin must've got caught in your sweater by mistake!"

"Oh well, I didn't feel anything."

"Neither did I." I began to cut up my food, and start eating.

I didn't see Chuck the rest of the day, so I decided to call it a night and get some sleep, hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
