Four Peas in a Pod

I had to hand it to Ocarina and Breezy. They were incredibly brave and sly. They managed to trick all the guards into leaving their posts long enough for Solstice and I to sneak past and make it to an escape pod. Once Solstice and I squeezed into the somewhat cramped pod, we waited for the two to launch it.

"What's the holdup? These guards could swarm in any second now!" Solstice hissed.

"It's difficult to decode this dialogue." Ocarina replied, staring at the panel of labeled buttons in bewilderment. "It's in a mixture of both our native languages."

"Can't you read your own languages?" She asked indignantly, pinching the bridge of her petite nose.

"We're kids. We're younger than both of you. And plus, no one bothered to teach us anything." Breezy huffed, becoming irritated at her task. Solstice let out a low growl and clenched her fists.

"Easy, Solstice." I whispered to her in an attempt to pacify her growing anger. "We'll be off this ship and back to our mission in good time. Just have patience."

"Hey, I think we-" Breezy chimed.

"Got 'em!" One guard skidded down the end of the hallway. "Nobody make a move!" The heavily armed and armored officer warned with his blaster aimed straight at us.

"So close." I sighed under my breath. Solstice must've heard me and tapped my back with her tail.

"Kuriza, follow my lead. No questions. Ready?" She smirked. I nodded. The guard started making his way down to us when Solstice fired a barrage of neon green beams out of her fingertips. I joined her, rapidly firing pinkish-purple lasers from my fingers. While he was blocking our bombardment, Solstice signaled for Breezy to hit the button to launch us out of here. She did so, unaware of the white limb coiling and yanking her and her friend into the pod. A split second later, the doors slammed shut and we were blasted out into space.

"Now is the time, Breezy." Ocarina said.

"Oh right! Wanna see some fireworks, guys?" She grinned mischievously, hands searching for something in her overall's pocket.

"Does it involve an explosion?" I questioned with another feeling of déjà vu.

"Just watch the ship." She pointed out the port hole window. The four of us watched with bated breath until finally, the whole spacecraft erupted in flames and colors.

"Why did you do that?" I asked, staring in awe at the explosion.

"Put it simply; that ship was a foreshadowing of what Hell is. Nobody cared for us except for when chores had to be done or they needed target practice." Breezy responded with her dark green eyes closed.

"No one knew we even existed otherwise." Ocarina added, deadpanned. "Which is why we're grateful you saved us."

"Hey Ocarina! Guess what?" Breezy called, a lot happier than before.

"If you make one of your pointless puns, I'm jumping out the window."

"I guess you could say-"

"Don't do it. I'm serious."

"We're just...four peas in a pod!"

"Ugh!" Solstice face palmed. Ocarina kept his blank face. Breezy laughed hysterically as if it were the best joke ever. I merely squeezed against the wall nearest Solstice and brooded.

'So this happened. I went from a life of lonely luxury to being squished in a small pod with a Majin and a Namekian, and my own kind, in a matter of days. Let's see where else this goes' I pondered in my thoughts.
