The first few days after the miles county masacre of Halloween 2017 were investigating crime scenes and watching camera tapes, over, over and over again. You were focused on looking at the scenes in the abandoned building rather than the pizzeria, after all, your headache of a killer had died there. That peaked your interest far more.

First crime scene: A girl identified to be Dawn Emerson. She was found hanging upside down, cut in half with some sort of saw. In her phone, pictures of her and another victim, her and the clown and a selfie of the clown with the dead body were found. You analyzed every picture. Every detail in the clown's face. He seemed so happy. A few texts were also found in her phone. Texts that were sent after her time of death. It is presumed the killer send them to lure Victoria Heyes into the building. No connection between a man with the characteristics of the clown and Dawn Emerson was found.

Second crime scene: A man. At first, it was imposible to identify the body. After some DNA test and forensic analysis, it was identified as some demolition worker named Mike. He was hit and then his head was stepped on with enough force to make it blow up. He was just there due to his job. No connections between him and the killer. The poor guy was just doing his job at the wrong place in the wrong time.

Third crime scene: A man identified as Will. Probably the most merciful kill of the masacre. His head was cut off. He was Mike's business partner. Just like him, he was doing his job at the wrong place in the wrong time.

Fourth crime scene: A girl identified as Tara Heyes. Different injuries were found. A syringe hole on her neck, different trauma around her body, bullets in her feet and head... The cause of death. The body was found sitting on a chair, decorated with lights and a sign that said "circus". Tara Heyes has tried to fight back, but was surprised with different shots, enough to make her look almost unrecognizable. She had encountered the killer in the pizzeria and was later followed into the building. It was presumed she was forced to watch the death scene of her friend Dawn Emerson.

Fifth crime scene: An unidentified woman known simply as "Cat Lady". She was just a homeless sick woman that lived in the building with her doll. Her scalp and hair were flawlessly removed, as well as part of the tissue of her chest. The missing parts were found later on a bit further away from the body. From testimonies later on, it was discovered that the killed had used it as a disguise.

Sole surviver: A girl identified as Victoria Heyes, older sister of Tara Heyes. Was found in a very bad condition, almost dead. She was ran over, and when the police arrived, the killer was... eating her face off. She was deformed, but alive. Heyes was sent away in an ambulance almost in an instant.

Sixth crime scene: A tall man with a black and white clown costume. The killer. You had some time to analyze him from afar before he was taken away. He was later identified to go by the name "Art The Clown", a fitting name for the crime scenes he left. The crime was solved, the suspect was dead and he would soon be recognized.

It angered you. He had died like a coward, your challenge was gone... But he had left behind a bunch of bloody scenes you had to take pictures of and analyze... As well as his bag of different weapons, which you took with you and kept as evidence.

-"Hey, are you okay?" You heard a voice behind you say as you stared at the place where the clown had died. The place you came back to every day as you waited to hear from the morgue. As you waited to know his identity. The voice belonged to Glenn, one of the other criminologist in your team.

-"I'm fine. It just... Amazes me. I've never investigated someone so... Evil." You simply replied, staring down at the pool of dried blood the shot that killed your psycho left behind.

Glenn nodded understandingly and patted your shoulder.

-"Yeah... This one was... A monster. I've never seen you so distressed by a case." He replied. Your eyes kept fixated on the blood.

-"He was. He was an artist." You replied, remembering the bodies... The torturous last moments of each one of the victims. That guy was having fun. He liked what he was doing and he had horrible yet fascinating plans for each one of his victims.

Glenn looked at you awkwardly after your response, but simply nodded and started to walk away.

-"If you need anything, remember we are here for you." He said before completely disappearing from your sight.

You had gathered all of the information you could get out of the crime scenes. You had done the reconstruction of how it happened based of the cameras and the bodies.

Soon it was late, and after a quiet ride, you were home. You sat down and opened your bag, taking out a rusty meat cleaver from it. It was a weapon you stole from his trash bag. It wasn't right to steal evidence, but you wanted to keep a memory. Something to keep you sane and remind you that the monster you were longing for once lived, and maybe... Just maybe someone like him would come by to torment you.

You didn't expect it to be soon.

You were watching the tapes again and writing down the police report with all of the events of the masacre in chronological order when your phone rang. You picked it up and heard the voice of the chief of police on the other line.

-"Hey, you're detective Y/N right? The one assigned to the Miles County Clown case?" His voice wandered, sounding nervous.

-"Yes, that's me. Have you found out who the suspect was?" You calmly replied, aching to know the answer.

-"No. Something strange happened... The body disappeared from the morgue. The coroner was found dead. Can you please come down here to investigate?" He said. You stayed silent for a few seconds, letting those words sink in.

-"I'll be right there" You replied, hanging up and letting out a sigh. The mystery was still on. Maybe some idiot stole the body to preserve his identity? That was the only reasonable explanation.

You grabbed and analyzed the meat cleaver once again, a small smile appearing on your face.

The case was giving you another chance. You were the one meant to find this clown.
