-"I'm back!" You yelled, entering your home. The home you now shared with him.
Of course you got no reply, he did not speak after all, but hey, you managed to communicate with him. Even when you were Gummi and stayed silent as well, you always managed to understand each other.
A connection maybe, or you liked to think that.
You waited for a few seconds before closing the door, expecting to hear footsteps or something like it, but nothing.
Every now and then that happened. He would try and scare you or he had something for you somewhere around... And sometimes he had gone out to kill some time.
You started to look around, being extremely silent to see if you caught any footsteps or noise. It was a little game you had.
If he was around, he was probably trying to scare you, and you had to find him before he did that.
What a fun guy to share a home with. You liked his little surprises.
You looked room by room, turning on the lights to make sure he wasn't in them. You left them on to remind yourself you checked it out already.
You started to notice rooms you were sure you already checked had the lights off.
-"I know you're here... Come out clowny." You said in a teasing tone, moving towards your office as you heard the click of the light switch there.
As you turned around to head there, you bumped right into him. He caught you, trapping you with his arms as he smiled at you.
You jumped a little at the surprise, but then smiled back, returning his hug.
-"Good try. You almost got me." You said, giving him a cocky smile. Art's smile faded as he looked at you with a tilt of his head, as if he was questioning your words. "Maybe you got me a little bit." You added upon his reaction.
He seemed to accept your words now.
-"I went to see Sienna again today." You mentioned, moving away from him so you could leave your things aside. He followed you closely, listening. "She told me about Gabbie. She's trusting me more and more."
Art clapped, jumped and smiled happily. He looked so cute.
He was once again proud of you.
-"I also told her about Jonathan. How's that going by the way?" You asked him.
Sometimes Art went out to check on Jonathan. Maybe 'check on' were too kind words to describe what he did to him.
He smiled in response and made a sign with his fingers, meaning he was close to achieving what he wanted.
Before you could congratulate him for that, he made you a sign to wait, and then started to search for something in his hat.
That was silly.
He took out a ring and gave it to you. A gift. You immediately put it on.
It was plastic, nothing too fancy, but it was from him.
You would never take it off.
You grabbed him gently, placing a small kiss on his cheek to thank him. Art made a surprised expression, touching his cheek at the place you kissed. He then smiled, swinging his hand as if he was embarrassed by your affection, not in a bad way, more in a shy way.
He was so adorable.
Then you realized... He didn't mind your affection. You usually didn't initiate any kind of it in fear of bothering or annoying him, or maybe you did, but very simple stuff like just holding his hand. You always let him decide when he wanted something a little more special.
But now, for the first time you had dared to do something a little more serious... And he didn't care.
It didn't bother him. He seemed rather... okay with it.
More than okay even. That made you so happy.
Maybe, just maybe...
You always had the question floating around. Did he love you or just stand you? Did he showed you affection because he felt something or just because he wanted to make sure you kept being obsessed with him?
Sometimes it felt like he was just using you... But other times, his reactions seemed so genuine that you suspected it was something else.
There was no certain way to know.
-"Hey..." You let out, thoughts and doubts still running through your mind.
Art looked at you, tilting his head.
-"I love you. I'll always do anything you want me to. It doesn't matter how horrible it is, if it makes you happy... I'll do it." You confessed, even though it was obvious he knew.
He listened, not reacting for a few seconds. He then smiled and pulled you closer, pressing his lips against your cheek as a reply.
Was it a "me too" or just something to leave you satisfied?
Either way, it turned your cheeks red and made you so happy.
Art accepted your feelings, even if it was just for convenience...
He knew and didn't push you away or kill you.
That was so sweet.
Sometimes, even monsters are better than humans.
