My entire soliloquy was deleted by bad Wi-Fi, so I'll have to rewrite it. But this little excerpt I'm about to show is not a story, it's a "oneshot".

It's a "oneshot" to a bigger oneshot. Yep. That's it, and that's all.

If I say it's anything else, I'll never finish it. I'm telling you—I've been writing that Ravey story for 2 years, and I whole heartedly believe it's because I told you guys about the story before I even started writing it. I'm superstitious in that way.

But these are two parts I thought were funny, and I don't have a current oneshot ideas, so I figured this would make up for it:) Enjoy!

He was quick to grab it, and even quicker to put to his ear. "Hi, baby."

"Baby, huh?" Davey's voice sounded over the phone, making Jack's smile widen. "That's not exactly taking it slow, Mr. Kelly."

He hadn't meant for it to slip out—truthfully, he hadn't been expecting it to be Kat. She had yet to call him and tell him about her day, wishing him a sleepy goodbye before heading to sleep. That 'baby' was meant for her, and in a literally sense.

But Davey had picked up, his caring voice soothing Jack's ears as he spoke, and spiking his heart rate a couple notches. He didn't seem to mind the slip up, as embarrassing as it was, so Jack didn't either. He only hoped, really, that Crutchie, Blink, and Finch didn't think he was talking to anyone but Kat, though he was sure Crutchie had an inch of a hunch—he was eying him carefully out of his peripheral.

Jack chuckled, running a hand through his hair. "Well, Jacobs, you can imagine I'm kind of impatient."

Davey hummed, and Jack closed his eyes, leaning back against the couch. Crutchie was fully staring now, Blink and Finch sending a few glances his way. "You'll have to quell that. I'm afraid I'm not going to stop you if you pounce on me."

Jack laughed, shaking his head. "Uh-huh. And what happened to this being a holy day?"

"Sun's down." Jack rolled his eyes. "And I like teasing you. It's funny."

Jack sighed out a laugh, a sound he hoped would get mistaken for amusement. His heart was pounding in his chest, and body flushed with warmth at the idea of Davey teasing him—hours. He could only think of hours.

But this was not taking it slow, he realized as he cleared his throat. He glanced at Crutchie, who was staring with an undying curiosity above a persistent worry, and redirected the conversation as best he could. Davey chuckled. "Nervous, Jack?"

"You're terrible", Jack muttered into the phone, covering his already closed eyes with his free hand. "I don't know what I'm gonna do with you."

"I'll always take kisses as an option."

"Do you have a line for everything I say?"

"And a move." Jack shuddered, a smile visibly growing on his face. "But we're taking this slow."

I skipped some parts of the chapter because spoilers:) But here's the funny part:

"You didn't tell me it was that bad", Crutchie stated first, shaking his head. "When's the last time you got laid, dude?"

Jack shrugged, placing his phone beside him. "I don't know. Three years ago?"

Blink's mouth opened in shock, nearly hitting the couch cushions. "Jack Kelly, you haven't had sex in three fucking years?!"

"Oh, my God", Finch whispered, looking away from Jack. "Everything makes so much sense..."

"Look, I was busy." Truthfully, he couldn't believe it himself at times—there was a time he wasn't without sex, whether he was in a relationship or not. There was a game in finding someone he liked and hooking up with them. But when Kat came his priorities shifted, and when he got divorced, he was spending more time trying to scrape enough money by to keep himself from crashing. "With the divorce and raising Kat, I didn't have the time. I don't know if I still have the time."

"Oh, no, you do", Blink assured rather aggressively, speaking as if dating Davey was something he had to do. "You have to. There's a very anxious stick up your ass and someone needs to take it out."

Jack deadpanned at his best friend amongst Finch's sniggering, blinking plainly. "Thank you, Louis, for implying my anxiety is a stick up my ass."

Kid Blink responded to his gratitude with a blown kiss, which Jack quickly swatted away. "Hey, don't reject my love!"

"Do whatever you want with Blink's love", Crutchie intervened, curving the conversation with his serious tone. "Just don't reject Davey's. If not for yourself, then for mankind. The world is suffering because you laid a part of yourself to rest."

"No, he didn't", Finch shook their head. "That part of himself hasn't been laid in three years."

"Oh, ha, ha", Jack chuckled sarcastically, ignoring the snickers and laughter of his friends. "I get it, I haven't fucked anyone in three years. But sex is not a large part of my personality, so..."

"Yeah, I know that", Crutchie admitted, rolling his eyes. Jack frowned. "What I'm saying is that you haven't interacted with anyone romantically of sexually since you and Gwen filed for divorce. Jack, that happened five years ago."

That did put things into perspective—Jack hadn't had much adult company outside of platonic relationships. Thinking even further back, he and Gwen stopped having sex a year or two before the divorce, which put him at six years, at least, without sex. Almost a decade.

"Oh, my God", he mumbled in horror, leaning onto his knees. "Am I a virgin again?"

I hope you enjoyed this little tidbit, and I hope you are as excited about the long oneshot as I am:). Thank you for reading!
