A Life So Changed {Waterloo Road}

Chapter Three

Amelia had been shutting herself off from everyone and it was causing concern for Chris. When his parents rang to ask about her or to talk to her he had to tell them that she was studying.

That morning Chris made breakfast and he called Mia through but once again, she had eaten nothing "you're gonna make yourself ill" Mia shrugged "I don't care" Chris frowned and spoke "Mia, you need to eat" Mia rolled her eyes "no, I don't! You are not my dad!" Mia grabbed her stuff and left ignoring Chris yelling her name.

Chris arrived at school and saw Mia with Skyler so he went over to her "why leave like that?" Mia looked at him "what did I say? You're not my dad. Quit acting like it" Mia stood and walked off with Skyler following her.

"Mia! Wait" Mia turned to Skyler "what?" Skyler sighed "what's wrong? You've been distant from everyone lately" Mia shrugged "I don't know what's wrong with me" Skyler hugged Mia "don't let stuff get to you, okay?" Mia smiled "thanks, I'll try not too".

Chris stood outside the office debating on weather or not to speak with Max about Mia. Chris' internal debate got the better of him and he walked in "what can I do for you?" Chris sighed "it's Mia" Max looked up "what about her?" Chris took a deep breath and spoke "I think she has an eating disorder" Max frowned "why do you think that?" Chris again sighed "she's not eating meals. When I say not eating, I mean flat out refusing" Max nodded "get Kim to speak with her" Chris shook his head "Mia doesn't exactly like Kim, she's convinced she's trying to get into her head. I was thinking that maybe you could speak to her" Max nodded and spoke "I'll see what I can do" Chris smiled "thanks".

Skyler was sitting in the library doing some homework when she felt someone stand next to her, turning to see who it was she blushed as she saw Tom "early morning homework club?" Skyler smiled "it's just homework I couldn't finish last night, I didn't get what needed to be done" Tom smiled  "I'll help".

Tom took the paper from Skyler and began helping her "did Mr Budgen set this homework?" Skyler nodded "that's why I don't get it. He never explains it" Tom sighed "Mr Budgen has never been one for explaining what needs to be done" Skyler let out a small laugh "I can see that".

Max made his mind up to speak with Mia about what Chris had told him. He made his way her lesson "Grantly, I need Amelia" Mia stood and followed Max to his office. Once they were in Max shut the door and sat down next to Mia "your brother tells me he thinks you have a eating disorder" Mia frowned and she spoke "what? Because I've not been eating?" Max nodded "yes, he seems rather concerned" Mia rolled her eyes "I'm fine, I've not been hungry" Max nodded but he wasn't convinced "I want to see that you've eaten at lunch" all Mia did was nod.

Skyler had finally completed the homework thanks to Tom helping her "thank you so much for your help" Tom smiled and he received a hug from Skyler "I appreciate what you've been doing to help me" Tom smiled "it's fine" Skyler smiled "I should head to lesson" Tom nodded "I'll see you soon" . Skyler left the library with a smile on her face. She had a crush on Mr Clarkson.

Max had told Chris about the chat he had with Mia and Chris seemed grateful and he said he would stand in the canteen at lunchtime to check.

Lunchtime came so Chris and Max were stood in the canteen waiting for Mia to walk in. When she did she was with Skyler "I don't think she'll eat" Max sighed "she has too".

Mia knew that Chris and Max were watching her but she didn't care. She wouldn't eat if she wasn't hungry. Once Skyler was eating Mia stood from the table and left.

Chris and Max noticed Mia leave the canteen so they both went after her "Mia!". Chris and Max eventually caught up with Mia "what happened? You told Mr Tyler you were gonna eat" Mia rolled her eyes "I only said that to get him to quit hassling me" Chris frowned "you are gonna make yourself ill" Mia shrugged "I don't care! Leave me alone!".

Skyler was sitting with Tom in his classroom as Mia was with Mr Mead and Mr Tyler "I'm surprised you're not with Mia" Skyler smiled "she's with Mr Mead and Mr Tyler" Tom nodded "is she okay?" Skyler nodded "yeah she's fine". Tom came and sat with Skyler "are you settling in now?" Skyler nodded.

Tom and Skyler were still sitting in the classroom together when Skyler plucked up the courage and inched her face closer to Tom's. Tom did the same and they both leaned in....
