Chapter Twenty-Four

~~Previously~~
Mia didn't know what to say and neither did Max "well? I asked what's going on" Mia started stuttering "erm no-nothing" Chris wasn't convinced "something's going on so tell me"

~~ Now ~~

Max spoke "she's been seeing an older guy and I told her she had to stop" Chris turned to look at Mia "is that true?" Mia looked at Max and then at Chris and she nodded "yeah its true but I'm ending it now" Chris sighed "Mia, you don't need to see older guys" Mia nodded "I know. I'm sorry'.

Tom and Skyler sat on the sofa with Natalia lying on her playmat "is Mia okay?" Skyler nodded "yeah, she's fine" Tom smiled and kissed Skyler's head "I love you" Skyler smiled "I love you too".

Mia was trying to hold back the tears. It wasn't working though. She sat in Chris' classroom while he had a free "do I know this guy?" Mia looked up and shook her head "no, it was just someone who I knew through a friend" Chris nodded "make sure you end it Mia, he'll end up hurting you" Mia smiled "I know. I was stupid to think I could be with him" Chris sat next to his sister and hugged her "I won't tell mum or dad about this" Mia smiled and cuddled into Chris "thanks, I don't wanna go back with them".

Max had the feeling that Mia ended things with him but he wasn't giving up on their relationship. He loved her and he needed to prove it.

Skyker had gone for a shower so Tom was looking after Natalia "you mean so much to your daddy and he loves you so much" Natalia blinked her eyes which caused Tom to grin "you're beautiful". Skyler stood in the doorway and a tear rolled down her face. She was so happy. She had Tom and their daughter. Her life was so perfect she just didn't know how wrong things were going to go next week.

Mia left Chris' classroom and Max approached her "we need to talk" Mia sighed and she nodded. Max led Mia to an empty classroom "what was all that about in the office? You were ending it" Mia turned to Max with tears in her eyes "you were right. Things need to end. This isn't working out" Max took a step towards her "you are not ending what we have. I won't let you" Mia sighed "what we have is just sex. We both know that" Max took her hand "it wasn't because I love you" Mia smiled "I love you too but it's too risky. Chris nearly found out" Max sighed "we need to be more careful" Mia took a deep breath "no one can ever know about this" Max took her hand and kissed her.

_A Few Hours Later_

Chris and Mia headed home. Mia knew it was going to be hard to see Max now that Chris knew about her seeing an older guy. Mia went straight to her room and text Skyler -

Mia - Are you okay? Xx

Skyler - Yeah. Are you okay? Xx

Mia - I'm fine, have to be don't I? Xx

Skyler - You know you can talk to me Xx

Mia - I know. Thanks Xx

Mia sighed and she tried to keep the tears in but they flowed down her face.

Skyler was worrying about Mia, she knew something had happened at school. Tom was making dinner.

Chris decided to cheer Mia up by ordering pizza with Ben and Jerry's icecream. When she came into the kitchen it was obvious she was upset about something "pizza's coming" Mia looked up and shrugged "I'm not hungry" Chris sighed "you need to eat. You're looking ill" Mia rolled her eyes "I don't care  Don't care about much anymore".

A Couple Of Hours Later

After Tom and Skyler had dinner they fancied an early night. Once Natalia was in bed and asleep Tom climbed into bed next to Skyler "our princess is conked out asleep" Skyler smiled and cuddled into him "I love you" "I love you too" Tom kissed her before they both fell asleep.

Mia lay in bed that night thinking about stuff. It was nearing 2am when she heard Chris going up to bed. After thinking for a while Mia climbed out of bed and got dressed. She left the house.

Max was about to head up to bed when the doorbell rang. Frowning to himself he looked out the window and saw Mia. Opening the door he saw she looked cold "do you realise what the time is?" Mia shrugged "I had to see you" Max nodded and pulled her into the house "what's wrong?" Mia sighed "all the times you said you loved me, did you mean it?" "Yes" Mia nodded and she kissed him. Max took her up to the bedroom and they both fell asleep.
