Everything was a blur. He wasn't sure if it even happened.
Time seemed to slow down at that moment. His breathing quickened, and he felt lightheaded.
His throat closed up, and he had a hard time swallowing the lump that formed there.
He blinked.
Once.
Twice.
Then he stared at his palms, wide-eyed.
They were dripping in blood, and he couldn't identify if all of it was his.
His vision became blurrier.
His mind took him back to that same exact moment. The moment everything started.
He blinked.
Once.
He saw the dead corpse of him. An image he will never forget.
Twice.
His vision is now clearer. It's not him.
He saw people rush in the room to take out his severely injured opponent. (He's pretty sure he wont make it)
He looked down at his palms again, and a devilish smile stretched on his busted lips.
He did it.

He breathed heavily.
A hand came on his mouth to stop more sobs from leaving his throat.
He cried. But then again, isn't that what he always do?
He's so stupid, he just realised.
What even made him think this would work? Where did he get the confidence that the universe would work in his favour?
It never did.
And now he's stuck here.
He should've known better.
His whole body ached, but it did no job in overcoming the pain his heart felt.
He felt like someone was tearing him apart. And maybe that would be better than his case, to be honest.
At least that way he'll finally die and not have to go through this anymore.
Maybe that's the solution for his problems after all.

"You did it!"
Jake had just walked into the huge room and threw himself at Felix, in a tight hug.
Felix, though, wasn't really feeling it.
He sat there stiff.
Jake backed away after some seconds, clearing his throat. He'd been around the demon long enough to know when something is wrong.
"Ehm.....are you oka -"
"I did what you asked me to do, I took him down. Now it's time for you to finish your part of the deal. End this shit."
Felix cut him off, not even sparing his glance. He just turned to talk with the big guy.
Jake was confused.
The big guy stood up and walked towards them.
He started laughing hysterically, and it sent a shiver down Jake's spine.
"I see, the Devil still has it in him. I'm gonna have to admit, you really amazed me there, I didn't think you'll actually make it."
"You must know better than everyone that I never leave a job unfinished."
