Chapter Sixty-Two
The car rolled to a stop in front of the school’s hall. My heart raced with anxiety, though I tried to appear calm. Dominic glanced at me, sensing my nervousness, and gently took my hand. His quiet support grounded me for what was about to unfold. As the car doors opened, the boys stepped out first, then Jenny and I followed. The night air felt electric.
My dress hugged my curves, fitting like a second skin from my hips to my thighs, before flaring out in a cascade of fabric that ended in a long slit at the front. My sparkly red heels peeked out beneath the hem as I stepped forward. My dress was identical to Jenny’s, except mine was red and long-sleeved, making us a perfectly coordinated pair.
Dominic turned to me and smiled, extending his hand. "Shall we?" he asked with a slight bow, adding a bit of playful charm. I took his hand and nodded, smiling back. We walked into the hall together, and the moment we entered, every head seemed to turn in our direction. The students were dressed in every imaginable style and color, creating a vivid, glamorous scene.
The hall itself looked magical. The decorations were breathtaking, as if we had stepped into our own mini-Met Gala. Red carpet stretched to the stage, the room was filled with twinkling lights, and the tables were elegantly arranged with food, flowers, and music that filled the air. I turned to Jenny, impressed.
"Wow, Jenny, you really outdid yourself!" I whispered.
She grinned. "Just one of my many talents," she replied with a wink.
For a few moments, it felt like we were the center of everyone’s attention. Students gathered around us, snapping photos and admiring our outfits. It was surreal. Soon, Lauren, Maggie, and Rachel joined us, along with a few of the boys from our group.
"Oh my, you guys look absolutely glamorous," Lauren said with a smile.
Rachel turned to Jenny, her eyes wide with admiration. "You’re going to have to plan every single outfit I ever wear from now on. You’re a natural!"
Jenny chuckled. "Thank you," she replied, clearly enjoying the compliments. We stood around talking and laughing, soaking up the excitement of the evening.

**Sophia**
Hanna and Dominic walked in together, looking like some kind of fairytale couple. The attention they received was hard to ignore, and everyone around them seemed to be in awe of their "perfect couple" aura. I clenched my fists, feeling a surge of anger rise within me. She looked so annoyingly… beautiful. It was unfair. What had I done to deserve being left out like this?
Chloe must have sensed my sour mood because she leaned in, trying to comfort me. "Girl, chill. It's not like they’re actually dating," she said, glancing in their direction.
Claire, however, shot me a look. "I didn’t want to tell you this, but I guess I have to," she said in a low voice. "They are dating. I overheard her talking to my aunt about it. They even kissed!" Her words hit me like a bucket of cold water.
"Kissed? Dating?" I muttered, feeling my heart sink. "How could this happen? Dominic isn’t supposed to get attached to anyone like that!"
"Calm down, Sophia," Chloe said, sighing. "There are other guys here. Dominic and Hanna just… work together. They have things in common. You and Dominic, though? You’re total opposites. Just let them be."
I shot her a sharp look, irritation boiling over. How could she say something like that? I didn’t want to let them be. But I couldn’t risk ruining prom, so I took a deep breath, swallowing my frustration. Claire’s smug expression didn’t help, either.
