Past when they were both 17
~~~Hudson's pov~~~
"This is going to be so much fun!" My best friend Lexi exclaimed.
The last thing I wanna do is be here considering I'm not the party type, but as soon as Lexi heard about it she begged me to come with her.
I can't tell her no, she has me wrapped around her finger.
Lexi has had a hold on me since we were kids, more so when we entered middle and I started to see her as a cute girl and not just my best friend.
As we got older and entered highschool those feelings transformed into a deep love and I knew I was fucked.
I knew she didn't feel the same way since she's never showed interest in me like other guys she's had a crush on before, so I've keep my feelings a secret no matter how much it hurt.
Her ongoing crush on Brock hasn't gone anywhere, thank goodness.
It still hurts to hear her talk about how much she likes him and everything, but I've gotten very good at tuning her out when she starts talking about him.
If she were to start dating him it would crush me, but she deserves better than someone like me.
And before you start complaining that I'm talking bad about myself, I'm just saying that she deserves someone who's more like her.
Lexi is this amazing outgoing person who is the life of the party and I'm the antisocial guy who sits in the corner and counts down the minutes until he can leave from a party.
We're total opposites, but somehow we're the best of friends.
"Come on, let's get something to drink" She said as we walked through crowded house.
When we get to the kitchen a grab a solo cup and fill it up with beer since that's the only thing that available, and hand it to Lex.
She takes a sip and grimaces.
I fill up my cup and take a sip and grimace as well.
The beer is warm so it's not the best.
I shake my head and see Lexi already talking to people she knows.
Like I said social butterfly.
She's captain of the girls varsity softball team, as a junior nonetheless, running for student body president, and does a lot of volunteering.
Me, I'm achieving high honors and I'm on the varsity golf team because it's one of those team I don't have to do much besides hit a ball.
I do like other sports, but I'd rather not want to worry about what concussions or any other sports will do to my body later in life.
I wouldn't do anything extra curricular related if my counselor said if I want to get a scholarship then being a well rounded student is what they look for so I play a sport and keep up my grades and I should be good for college.
I know I still have a year to go, but I want to make sure I get a scholarship since I won't be able to afford it and the money I make at the pizza place I work at won't do anything for tuition.
College is gonna be hard since Lexi and I will be a part from each other for the first times in our lives, but I have to get used to that because she'll meet someone and I won't see her that much anyway.
"Can I have everyone's attention!" Tony Johnson yelled.
He's one of Brock's best friends and the host of the party.
