Chapter 5

The day went particularly fast for Ashley. Having Mokuba, Amber and Emma all day certainly made time fly by. They were all so full of energy, and Ashley exerted herself by just chasing them around. Now she was dressed up for this business meeting. She wore a blue, strapless, sweetheart cut dress that ended just above her knees. She complemented the dress with a small pearl necklace and bracelet. Now she was putting up her long blonde hair into a fancy bun.

She was still putting up with Mokuba's teasing. Ashley told him about the deal that she made with his older brother. Mokuba was insinuating that Kaiba had different motives. "It's not a date Mokuba. Don't make me vomit." Ashley looked at the teen with hands on her hips and an immature pout on her face.

"That pout doesn't hide that blush Ash." "Shut up." Unfortunately for Ashley, Amber heard the entire thing. Amber ran towards them excitedly, jumping into Mokuba's arms. "So Mr. Kaiba is going to be my new uncle?" Ashley sighed and had a good response, but Mokuba beat her to it. "Not yet! But soon, I promise!" Mokuba had a sly smirk on his face, and Ashley noted that it was much more cheery than Kaiba's.

"I don't want to date, dating sucks." Ashley said as she began to apply some red lipstick. "Then get married Auntie Ashley." Married to Kaiba? No thank you. "It doesn't work that way Amber." She finally finished hair and make up and did a one over of her fancy outfit in the mirror. "You look cute!" Mokuba and Amber said simultaneously. "Heh I know." Ashley said rather arrogantly and giggled. A fiddling sound was coming from the door, and about a few seconds later, Joey's voice boomed through the apartment.

"Heya Ash! How were they?" Amber and Mokuba greeted Joey and Mai. Joey hadn't seen Mokuba in about two years. "Holy shit you're my height now!" Mokuba wasn't nearly as tall as Kaiba. He stood at the same height as Joey now, 5 feet 10 inches. Joey and Mokuba began to chat away while Mai joined Emma and Ashley in the bedroom.

"Ooh who are you getting all cute for?" Mai smirked as she checked out Ashley. Mai sat on Ashley's bed and gathered her daughter in her arms. Ashley turned around to face Mai, and habitually started to rub her tummy. "There's some business meeting tonight. I figured since company color is blue, I might as well wear a blue dress." Mai smiled but narrowed her eyes. "And white accessories. You might as well grow wings and call yourself a Blue Eyes White Dragon." Ashley dropped her hand off Mai's stomach and crossed her arms. The redness rose to her cheeks.

"Why does everyone think I'm trying to bang him? He's my boss for Gods sake!" "Ashley you've been wanting to bang Kaiba for years. And his little brother obviously spent the night, he's still in pajamas." "Kaiba spent the night too." Ashley bit her lip and quickly added, "but in the guest room! Duke is trying to ruin everything again." Ashley told Mai everything about last night's drama with the flash drive. Mai took this time to mother Ashley in her own little way. "Why the fuck would you keep it on a flash drive anyway? Burn that shit and move on with your life. Kaiba doesn't have to take you to these events, so it's obvious that he's into you. And he's right. I wish I could see Duke's face when you walk in with Seto Kaiba. Talk about major upgrade."

"But we're not even together! It's a BUSINESS meeting Mai!" "Sure. Keep saying that Ashley." Mai winked and heard Amber calling her from the living room. As Mai left, Joey popped his head in and Ashley bit her lip nervously. Joey was strangely super protective of her. "You look beautiful." Joey commented as he walked in and sat on Ashley's bed. "Thanks." Ashley's face lit up and gave Joey a bear hug. "Be careful alright. Don't make me have to kick anyone's ass."

Joey was protective, extremely protective. He'd go to lengths to protect those he loved, he always went to fists first. "I'm gonna be fine Joseph. But you need to tell your daughter that I'm not marrying Kaiba." "Heh I hope to God you aren't. He'll be my brother in law." Ashley looked up at Joey, to see his face in a disgusted scowl. Here she laughed, deciding to sit up before her hair was ruined. "Stop that worrying. It'll all be fine."
