The Touch of Sapphire

Chapter 33

May feel a bit Joey/Mai-centric, but it's not. 

Mokuba and Annessa walked into the Kaiba Mansion after being summoned by Seto. They had no clue what was going on now, and why they had to be escorted by Roland and a group of Kaiba Corp security. They knew it was serious since the entire quarters of the mansion were shut down.  As they headed into the living room, they saw the entire gang there, sans Kim and Randy.

"What in the hell is going on?" Mokuba finally spoke, sitting down next to Joey and Mai on the long couch. Annessa slowly made her way towards Thomas and Sarah who were sitting across from them. Kenji's movements were killing her today, and her feet were swollen like a bladder. They were a bit hesitant to tell Annessa what was going on because what is more stressful than carrying around a baby in you gut for nine months? She just did not need the problems right now.

"Ashley's missin'...again." Joey says, letting out a frustrated sigh as he looked up at the young couple. "Oh my god what the fuck happened?! Do we have any idea where she's at?" Annessa squealed and yelled, Mokuba wrapping his arm around her shoulder. 

"She called Kaiba, tellin' him that she was with Leon and-" Thomas started to explain to the two.

"Shit. God my sister is dead, she's fucking dead!" Annessa cried out, her hands shaking terribly. Mokuba had his head between his hands. The others looked at each other, now figuring out that they knew something about Leon.

"Guys what is going on? You two seem to know more than us." Mai finally spoke up, getting up to console a crying Nessa. She pulled her into her grasp, letting the girl cry into her chest.

Mokuba sat up straight, looking at everyone before starting off his explanation. "Leon is jealous. He originally started working for Seto about three years ago as an intern. He's a pretty smart guy, so Seto took a liking in him and gave him so much opportunities, and he met expectations every time. Leon does his job so well that he quickly became Kaiba Corp's top guy. Unfortunately for Seto, Leon took it the wrong way."

"So he liked your brother?" Joey inquired. "You're a genius." Thomas said to his son. Sarah elbowed him in the gut.

"Yup. He had a crush on Seto, and made moves on him when he visited the office. But Seto said he didn't swing that way, and for awhile, Leon stopped. When Ashley and Seto got together, that's when he started again. I mean sure, it was pretty hypocritical for Seto to be sleeping with Ashley when he told Leon he wasn't interested."

"That doesn't mean that he should kidnap the girl! Your brother is off to pin her location. He refused help. Said it was something he needed to do alone." Thomas crossed her arms, not very pleased that he has to sit here while Kaiba was in on the action.

"I just hope Seto gets to her soon." Nessa calmed down a bit in Mai's arms, now she was just sniffling a bit.

"You know he will!" Mokuba gave his girlfriend an encouraging smile, laying a kiss on her forehead.

There was a silence in the room when Amber waltzes in with Emma behind her. Everyone's eyes widened when they had huge bags of candy in their tiny hands. Chocolate were all over their little faces.

"Looks like they found Ashley's stash." Nessa said matter of factly, giggling when she saw Mai starting to freak out.

"Seto hid it from Ashley, these two can be great detectives." Mokuba giggled, taking Emma in his arms. Amber and Emma sat in between Annessa and Mokuba while their mother chastised them. "Joey! Say something to them!" Mai took the bags from them, handing it off to a maid to put it back wherever Kaiba hid it. "Uh can I have one?" Joey quickly saw the scowl on his wife's face and then went into father mode. "What did your mom tell ya about eatin' so much sweets! You guys gotta cut it out!" The two children pouted as their father yelled at them, and now Amber wanted to change the subject.
