It had been a few days since Catnap and Dogday had helped Sprocket soar through the skies again, and their bond felt stronger than ever. But there was still something hanging in the air, something unspoken yet undeniable. Though they shared many quiet moments and adventures, neither had actually used the word "date"—and it was beginning to weigh on them both.

One morning, as they sat together in their usual spot by the old toy carousel, Dogday's tail flicked nervously. His heart was racing, but he took a deep breath and decided to go for it.

"Catnap?" he asked, his voice slightly uncertain.

Catnap, curled up and half-asleep, opened one eye lazily. "Hmm?"

"Do you... maybe wanna, you know, go on a real date with me? Like, just the two of us?" Dogday asked, his voice rising slightly in nervousness.

Catnap blinked, fully awake now. His ears twitched as he thought about it. A date? That word had a weight to it—more than just being together, more than just hanging out. But the thought of spending a whole day with Dogday, without the distractions of adventures or the factory, made his heart skip a beat.

"I'd like that," Catnap replied softly, his tail curling contentedly around his paws. "Where should we go?"

Dogday's tail wagged so hard it was practically a blur. "There's this spot in the factory I've been saving—something special. You'll love it."
