As they sat together, the silence between them grew heavier. For the first time, there was no grand adventure or looming danger to distract them—just the two of them, alone. It was... nice, but also awkward.

"So..." Dogday started, rubbing the back of his neck with a paw, "I guess this is, like, an actual date, huh?"

Catnap chuckled softly, his tail flicking in amusement. "It feels like one."

Dogday's ears perked up, though he was still clearly nervous. "I've never really, you know, done this before."

Catnap gave him a knowing look. "Neither have I."

There was a brief silence before Dogday leaned in just a little closer. "I'm glad it's with you, though."

Catnap's heart skipped a beat. He wasn't one for big emotional displays, but hearing Dogday's words sent a warmth spreading through him that he couldn't deny. He let his body relax and leaned into Dogday's side, their fur brushing together.

"I'm glad too," Catnap murmured.

For a while, they sat in silence, simply enjoying each other's presence. The awkwardness melted away, replaced by a quiet, comfortable closeness. There was no need for words—everything they felt for each other was in that shared warmth.
