The factory loomed ahead, its massive rusted doors barely visible through the thick fog rolling in.
Catnap and Dogday didn’t stop running. They couldn’t. The Prototype was right behind them, its heavy, unnatural footsteps shaking the ground.
But just as they reached the entrance—
A voice echoed through the darkness.
"Catnap… Dogday…"
They froze.
That voice—
It was soft, almost gentle, but there was something wrong about it. It was coming from inside the factory, from the shadows beyond the broken machinery.
"Poppy?" Catnap whispered.
A small figure stepped forward.
There she was.
Poppy stood in the dim light, her red yarn hair slightly tangled, her porcelain face cracked in places. Her blue dress was torn, her wide eyes staring directly at them.
"You shouldn’t be here," she said, her voice almost a warning. "He’s too strong now…"
Dogday’s ears flattened. "Then help us!"
Poppy’s expression darkened.
"I can’t."
The air around them shifted. The factory groaned, the walls warping as the darkness behind Poppy moved.
The Prototype was already here.
"RUN!" Poppy suddenly screamed.
But there was nowhere left to run.
