Promise? (#wattys2015)

Chapter 5

I swiftly picked my phone up and answered it with a smile. We began talking and talking all night. The conversation that started off with our favourite food ended in our biggest fear. It was strange how fast we progressed and how much I could tell him about, but what was even stranger was that he wasn't like other guys. He never once tried to hit on me or flirt with me, he was so genuine it made me happy. He was the best guy friend i've ever had.

Soon after we started talking everyday, up till one night, where everything changed. I guess we got closer? I guess thats what lead to our first fight ever...

"What are you saying Pris? Are you blind? I sent you that picture ages ago!!! Stop messing around! What has gotten into you?"

"For the last time, NO PERCY I DID NOT RECEIVE IT ! Stop acting like i deleted it on purpose."

"How am I to know that?"

"Screw it Percy. Good night!"

"Well ok Pris.. maybe your phone's just jealous that you have a great texting buddy like me. I trust you when you say you didn't receive it alright. You trust me too?"

"Yea..I do."

"Guess i'll hang up then. Nights Pris."

"Nights."

After we hung up the call I began reflecting. Ugh, a shiver ran down my spine. How could this guy go from ferocious to amicable in seconds?! This guy had major problems. He mood swings worst than me. Wait. For a fact, I never mood swing. Guess people are different huh. Just then I got an incoming call from Sophie. 

"Hey Pris. I think I left my calculator with you. I need it urgently now. Mind if i come pick it up now?"

"Sure Soph. See you soon!"

Then Sophie arrived and I returned my calculator but it was a Friday night so she decided to stay over. We began talking about ridiculous things and finally we ended up talking about Percy. I told Soph about Percy and how I met him. I began filling her in on the details and ended the topic off with "but seriously, even if he were the last man on earth I would rather die than date him. That guy has issues. Big time." Soph chuckled before shocking me saying "well hate turns into love you know". It got late and we had to call it a night. 

The next day Percy texted me a good morning message, like nothing ever happened last night. I replied him too and soon I forgot about our small silly fight, which HE obviously started. Life went on, and our conversations did too. He made me feel some type of way that i've never felt before. He didn't sugar coat his words but they still managed to attract me no less. Finally, after 4 months of endless conversations Percy asked me to meet him. I agreed straight away but I had to lie to my parents to get out of the house. That was something I had never done before, but then again, with Percy everything was different. For the sneaking out part.. well what are sisters for, right? 

"Mom, Rachel, Helena and I are going to the mall during the holidays. Is that fine?"

"Yes sure Pris but be back by 7 alright?"

"Sure mom."

With that I skipped off to the room to join my teasing sisters. 

"OOOOOOH YOU LIKE HIM YOU LIKE HIM." 

"Shut up Helena you're 7 what do you know?" 

"FYI I am 10." "Big difference wow."

And with the help of my sisters, whom I share absolutely everything with, I managed to meet Percy. I left my sisters at the basement, promising to pick them up at 6 P.M. on the dot. I looked at my watch. 12.58 P.M. 2 more minutes... I was wearing my favourite snuggly pair of green jeans and black flats with a black singlet. My hair was tied back in a half updo and I had never been that nervous before in my entire life. 

I was meeting a guy I have never seen before. A guy who had managed to charm me even without his looks. Did I like him? Am I actually falling for him? No no no no he was just a friend and that is all I am to him too. I stared at my reflection. What would he think about my face which was a tad to chubby for my slender body. I was caught up in thoughts and failed to notice a guy staring at me from across. He started to approach me. His light tap shook me out of dream. I looked straight up.
