"He...he's dead, Nova. He's dead!"
My head spins as the words repeat in my head over and over, each tear out of my eyes carrying words I'll never say. I've tried.
The broken clock on the desk keeps ticking away chaotically the empty hours of my grief.
"We found a note, at the last place you hung out with him...let it out, Nova." They look at me with bated breath, as if I'm not their best friend.
"What are you trying to say!?" I scream so loud, they all jump up.
"Just saying." Serena shrugs.
My parents walk in, and look at me "Let's go, Nova." My dad pulls me out.
"Dad," I whisper so only he can hear, "You believe me, right? Its the truth."
He looks at me, not saying anything. Even he doesn't believe me?
I wake up in cold sweat, the sunlight through my windows warm on my face.
Picking up my phone, I realise its 4pm. Gosh an hour nap turned into this? I also see texts from my friends.
Naina:
Nova, let's go out. 5pm.
Hello?
You're coming.

You're also coming right?
I get out of bed after replying to both of them, I don't have much time to get ready also ugh.
Apparently we're going ice skating. How wonderful that I know nothing about ice skating.
Quickly, I take a shower, shaving my legs and such.
Wearing a dark blue knitted sweater with flared leather pants, I decide to tie my hair up.
I pick up my bag and phone after putting on an outrageous amount of accessories. Fuck minimalism.
Just when I step out of my room, Ada walks into the living room, wearing her sweats.
"Hey, you aren't coming?"
"I have a date today. So..." She grins, her whole face lighting up.
"Really? That's nice, have fun! Don't forget mints." I wink at her and walk towards the door.
